Browse around your settings. Not everything gets spoon fed to you. I found it literally in 2 minutes the first day I got my car. I believe it's under menu -> Vehicle settings -> idrive settings.

My question: I recently had to have my amp and REM replaced under warranty (basically everything electronic in the rear quit working, rear camera, parking sensors, brake lights, turn signals, trunk release. Since then, I am no longer able to drag on the iDrive touch pad and scroll the map around. I can zoom in and out with the wheel, but that's all. I suspect I can solve this with coding, but I'm not sure what to change. Any ideas?

Are you putting your NAV in free look mode? (not sure if it's called that). When on the map, if you want to drag the map around, you have to first click the wheel to the left, scroll to the very bottom and the option is 'free look' (or something to like that description), then you can drag the map with your finger.

This is by memory, so I can't remember the actual name of the function or if it's the last option once you click the wheel to the left.

You have to be in that mode to drag the map around.

Before the hardware replacements I recently had, I never had to do any such thing. Any time I had the map on the screen, I could drag my finger on the touchpad and scroll the map around. There wasn't an additional step. I'll check to see if I can find this step after work, though. Thanks.

Would it make sense to create a Wiki for all the different EXPERT MODE codes to organize this thread?
a Wiki sounds like a great idea. i don't have my car yet, but when i do, i'd hate to sift through all these pages again for what i need. i can be persuaded to help set this up, but again, i don't have the car yet, so it would be second hand info.

OK, checked this after work. That menu item is labeled "interactive map" and that still works. However, I 100% was able to do this from the navigation itself, that's what I want to get working again.

This is great! I was waiting on the update to do the comfort seat access. Did not pickup when the steps to do in expert mode were added! Will try this week, thanks!

I had added the details to enable the mirroring feature in iDrive 5 in expert mode, might want to add that perhaps?

Your call! Would be happy to edit the doc.

I had made a thread for it here so people who track their cars knew about it.

Thanks for the feed back. I was told that VIM was not available in US cars. We shall see.

I had the same issue. It just says nta instead of actual info text. Just select the second option and another window will pop up. The second window had the same nta error. Select the second option again I think, I don't remember exactly. Basically select the option that isn't highlighted by default.

Yep. I'm one for sure and theres more. Unfortunately you can do anything with ID4 but I coded quite a few items that I mentioned in my post with no issues. Here it is:

I tried it out successfully today. Pretty straight forward. A few observations: the presets only get wiped if you code the head unit module. ECU doesn't reboot when coding the head unit module but it does reboot when coding the FEM module. After the reboot, the car's screen and dash show some scary messages which go away. I suspect this is just the normal reboot process but it was a little scary. You also have to code one module at a time which I didn't realize at first.

I successfully omitted the side markers, headlight washers & startup warning confirmation screen. I added mirror folding on lock with no delay, reduced unfolding of mirrors speed to 5km, changed warning tones to iBMW and added unlock when turning off car via expert mode and increased angel eyes brightness. Not too shabby. Can't wait to experience the changes tomorrow on my way to work!

Assuming my run in svc. & rear brake heat/backing plates are replaced today, I hope to start coding by updating iD5 to iD6 Lite this evening.

Not sure! Was planning on looking into this during the week. Maybe someone else can chip in?

Also, lax01 requested write access so I can add the mirroring enabling steps.

Cool. Thank you for the update.

I plan on having my digital camera in my hand next time I try so I can photograph the screen. I was worried if I left the app on the iPhone to use the camera I'd mess something up.

As an FYI, I can confirm BimmerCode runs just fine on the iOS11 beta.
