Once you go black....you're always at the car wash.

Never considered LBB but originally I was getting AW. I didn't build my car so BSM it is. Wouldn't consider anything else now.

I've already seen LBB in person but it was indoors on the showroom floor. I liked it but can't say I was blown away. I stuck with it because it seems like the color the car was built for and we already have a black Bimmer in the family.

Truth!! LOL black is really not that bad, just have to wax the whip more often unless you never wash it, then no swirl marks

I saw LBB for the first time at the Htown auto show and liked it a lot, just fits the car. And i never owned a blue car in my life so getting LBB i had to grow some balls

I know you meant to ask OP and not me but I would say consider doing the front end. I am going to do XPel on the front bumper, partial hood and partial fenders with mirrors.. Its worth the investment seeing you are doing it to a 50k+ car..

I will track mine so I want to ensure the front is protected..

Ric how many miles did you rack during the drive? Good thing is that after the drive you are so close to the 1200 mile mark

By July 12 my vehicle enters production and is completed by 07/25 and got to the Nalley BMW dealership on 08/22. You can see my more detailed timeline on M2 order timeline thread.
Saturday morning I flew into Atlanta and went straight to the dealership where I saw my M2 beside an i8 in their customer staging area. It was nice to see on first startup the dif lock warning light popped because the car was still in transportation mode.
So after jumping in and taking my first drive I completely forgot people were complaining that the seat was tilted and each and every time I go in and start up my car I can't tell or even think about the seat. I spent about 10 hours driving back from Atlanta to miami and the seats were fine. They actually felt better than the ones I had in my F30 335i and I imported the profile from that car. So as part of the break in process on highway driving I was varying my revs, speeds and gears. I did get caught by laser in South Georgia on the higher side but I still kept everything in range I did not go over 105 or over 5500rpm.
Here are somethings I noticed, the bliping is less noticeable in comfort mode. The ASD im not sure if I can tell the difference if it's coming from the speakers or the exhaust. I would say this though in sport mode driving around town that exhaust burbles every time I let off the gas. The car has a lot of grip even in the rain and makes me feel like I can take any corner at any speed. There is a USB port by the cup holder which I did not expect.

Playing music over Bluetooth is absolutely horrible. I have an iPod touch that I will keep plugged in at all times. I like that with iDrive 5 I don't have to launch Spotify in order to access Spotify from iDrive and it also can be accessed via Bluetooth as well but don't do it. I have the iPod connected to the BMW wifi hotspot this way I can have my Spotify and my podcast automatically update and not needing to worry about my phone being connected via USB or horrible bt.
To setup hotspot you will need your cars phone number and by registering it at myvehicle.att.com
I got that setup yesterday plus I installed the M performance grills the cheap way. I bought the grills for the M235i and I removed centers and replaced it with my stock centers. It was quick and easy plus cost me $108 after some discounts.

The voice command and the navigation is a huge improvement over previous iDrive experiences. I can hit the voice prompt and say navigate to "any destination" and it will just start navigating to that location. Like for example "navigate to chipotle" and that's it. You can also ask about fuel and it will bring up the fuel info on the screen and tell you some info. At the end of my 10hr journey I hit the voice command button and said "I'm hungry" and it brought up a list of nearby restaurants.

Anyway here are some pics I'll try to take some more buts it's raining.
Congrats!!!

With the new idrive do you get that nice performance screen that shows the hp and torque digital dials??

Music over BT is bearable but it is so much cleaner especially when you turn it up over USB.

Love the write-up and the pics ric, really informative, I may follow your foot steps for the grill, thank you!

I love the BSM, and I feel the same way as many on this thread; I originally ordered LBB but then saw the official BSM thread and just had to switch, it's so sexy, mean, aggressive, and elegant (for a fancy date out) in black.

I find that the 5 mins of total drive time for autocross is a lot harder on tyres than a full track day at like homestead speedway.

I completely stopped doing autox and only been doing track days. It's a lot more fun and way more drive time.
