I got this error 3x already on the highway. 1st time around the car had maybe 500mi and the last 2 was around 1200mi. kitty less dp, JB4 on map 2 and e30. Always around 5.5 to 6k RPM at wot. Shouldn't be engine temp related cause I also have Wagner fmic installed.

I`ve had it 2 times on hard Autobahn driving.

Dealer re-installed software, haven`t had any problems since.

I will be testing tomorrow and Thursday on new tires, so I will be taking it relatively easy.

Let's see what comes back.

Do you have an aftermarket DP?

No, car is stock!

But I drove the car like it was stolen

Autobahn 31 pulling max revs and max km/h, that multiple times, you have to brake some times

Than the limb mode, took the car over to a parking place, re-started the car, no problem on the iDrive. So a took a 2nd maximum run, within 5 minutes the 2nd limb mode.

Took it to the dealer, they saw the 2 limb modes, but not the cause of it. They proposed a re-installation of the software.

Since than no problems, as I do live near the German border and the 31 Autobahn, I did drive the car hard on multiple occasions, as I said above; no problems!

Same here! Problem is gone for me. I tested it on the Autobahn numerous of times and I do not seem to have the issue anymore.

This was the case with my old 235i. In my M2 I refill shortly after I used a bit more that 1/2 of the fuel. No issues so far with the M2
