so i've been making some DIY videos of some of my upgrades for the M2, but i didn't get the idea to do this until recently. so i need your help/car to make more of these videos happen! I'm only going to make one video for each part, so i won't be offering free installations all the time. Here's what i want to cover:

1. Intake
2. Exhaust
3. Downpipe
4. Springs/Coilovers - done
5. Front Sway bar (i don't want to be responsible for rears since that usually means dropping the sub frame)
6. AWRON display

Installs will have to happen on weekends only - and we'll need to start early in the morning. all you need to do is supply the parts, help me film when i'm using two hands, and assist in positioning/lifting when needed. If you have all the proper tools, i can come to you. otherwise, we'll do the work out of my garage. I've been modifying cars since the late 90's, and worked at a speed shop when i was in college, so i know my way around a car. the purpose of these videos is to help the community by having step-by-step tutorials for various modifications and to help those who are on the fence decide if they can do the install themselves. PM me if interested!

If there's anything else the community may be interested in seeing done, let me know!

awesome! springs/coilovers are one of those mods that i think anyone can do, but it just seems so daunting that many people decide to have others do it for them. can't wait to help you out!

I did springs on my 228. First install i've ever done and i have to say that it was a pain lol. I hear coilovers are 'easier' so i'm interested in trying that out. But gotta decide how far i want to reach into my wallet for a drop.

yup, i could see why it would be a pain the first time, but having done suspension on countless cars, i know a bunch of tricks to make install way easier. that's another reason for me wanting to do these diy videos

Great! Will be very helpful for others. I searched up and down to find a video for suspension install and never got something solid.

Ended up winging it with a friend and figured it all out following some M4 threads. But I am sure many will benefit from this.

awesome. that could make things a lot easier lol. but then again, it may also take away from the house-mechanic vibe. part of the reason to make the videos is to show the work can be done in one's own garage without access to special tools. i guess it would depend what mod we're taping.

Very true.

But the video will be a lot clearer IMO. You can work easier and make a better DIY video with the car on the lift. Once the video is done the person without a lift can still use the video to help them with the DIY.

I have seen many DIY videos with people just using floor jacks and the videos are not very good at all. With a car lift you can make a professional looking video that anyone can use for the install.
