Ordering the LAST OF THE N55s!

So who is gunning to get an end run M2 LCI N55? I'm hoping to take delivery in June. The only thing that would get me to wait for the new car is if the price increase is like $1000. Even then I don't know if I could deal with that weedwhacker sound and goofy front end that it will likely have.

Mineral Grey

Exec
Carbon spoiler
Black grills and gills

Hopefully prices drop a bit as the model goes out.

Sounds good. You may want to order the M Performance option that adds the M Performance exhaust. The exhaust is a great sound addition and has been dinoed to add 5 hp. The option includes the carbon spoiler, black grills, and black gills.

Don't look back. The N55 is a pretty bulletproof motor, even FBO. Between that, its sound, and part availability (since it's a generic EWG N55), it should really go the distance and be great fun in the process.

I was able to snag a just built long beach blue before it ships over from germany. My dealer said they didnt have any more production slots and it seems like they’re not accepting any builds above what was already allocated.

Picking mine up March 26 euro delivery. When it arrives back here in Ohio, Dinan P2 package, a few suspension bits, and front wrap install to start. Just a month now until skip over the pond to pick her up. Had thought about waiting for CS, or what ever it might be, but decided N55 with Dinan improvements will be wicked, and I can drive it soon.

There will be one more quarter of N55 builds - second quarter allocations should be released next month.

I'm working with a dealer right now to get their next allocation, supposedly first week of March. Do you think this will still be an N55 car? Or does anyone have a timeline of end of production for the N55 M2?

Took mine in for the run in service, I was given a m3 comp, nice car sound was ok no grunt or pops and bangs. I think people holding back for the s55 engine will regret it.

The S55 is suppose to be announced in April with production starting in July.

That S55 sounds like complete crap.

Nothing to regret.

Sorry don't understand, they will regret buying the s55 because they can't buy the N55. The m2 makes me smile when I start it and drive it.

I currently have a M235i ready to turn in from lease. Love the motor. I'm debating taking a M2 I ordered that is in stock now. So no one is waiting or loving that the new S55 will have 40 more HP? I've never driven a S55 car so I have no idea. Loss of character and sound??? Future resale???

He S55 sure does not sound as good as the N55 but there are other things it does better than the N55.

The N55 equipped M2 is a great car but I am sure there will be people who would appreciate some of the other things that the S55 brings to the table which the N55 simply cannot, even at the expense of some aural pleasure. Factoring in the additional interior choices, brakes, wheels etc., the M2 competition might be a very good car and maybe even an improvement on the current M2 overall.

Even the exhaust might be improved in the Competition. We won’t know till we actually hear it.

I love the N55. It sounds wonderful compared to the elephant farts the S55 makes.

Where will you really use ~10% more power? Are you a track rat? If so, it might make a difference if you're a really good 10/10ths driver. Also, with the waiting lists that supposedly exist for the M2 S55, are you ready to wait a year or more before you can get your hands on one, likely at a higher price?

I highly agree with you.

I do doubt you'd have to wait a year just need to grab an allocation.

I've driven the F8x Ms and from inside the fake sounds are pretty nice but they are certainly fake. The exhaust sounds are just awful. Always have been and even the ZCP cars that people say have a better sound, are not good. The S55 is more powerful but the M2 N55 is no weakling and plenty of power for just about anyone on the street.

There are people who are disappointed with tuning options on N55 due to need of expensive turbo and intercooler upgrades to get reasonable power and the S55 is built for quick ECU tuned power. But for those of us who don't care to tune or heavily mod and want a fast, nimble, and sensory pleasing sports coupe, the current M2 fits the bill. The M2 Comp may also have too much power for the chassis although most of that issue is in the lack of rubber to the road.

I'm sure retrofitting will not be a problem although adds expense of course.
