One of the thing that I'm least happy about with the M2 is lack of colors. I happen to like bright colors - my current m235i is red, and I was ready to order orange m240i. I went with blue on the M2, but I'm not to crazy about it. Would love it in red or orange.

Any advice is much appreciated.
If you had to ask you will regret it.

Wait and decide correctly. I think cs is overpriced. I would buy regular nonoption m2 and pick up a s2000 or Jeep wagoner with the extra dough. Better yet doneuro delivery. That is truly special specially if you make it long enough to break in the motor and go fast legally.

There is no M2 CS. As far as the M2 Competition goes, no one knows the price. Although it is becoming apparent it won’t be overpriced like the M3/M4 CS.

Like I posted before, I'm no longer concerned about the color - if I can't deal with the blue, I'll just wrap it with something more interesting.

So now I'm having a remorse already, and I didn't even get the car yet, after seeing how many improvements the comp model has. I didn't expect it to launch in August, I thought it was going to be 2019.

Sounds like you really want an M2 Competition. I would pass on the LCI and get the Competition. It won’t cost you much more.

If you haven't taken delivery/paid for it yet just find someone to give your allocation to or tell the dealer you don't want it anymore and forfeit your $1000 deposit or whatever it was.

If I were you I would get the M2 Comp. It simply is a better car and once the reviews come out and people experience the low end torque of the S55 in an M2 I would suspect a very long waitlist for the M2 Comp and unfortunately I believe the older M2’s value will tank big time.

Now the current M2 may sound slightly better, the more powerful S55 and the possibilities of increasing its power via tune will come out on top. This new M2 will be a rocketship.

To the OP, if your thinking matches up with the post above, you should go with the Competition. You'll probably have to wait, and your deposit may be at risk, but that's small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. You just don't seem to be at peace with what's headed your way - this story may not have a happy ending unless you go with your instinct.

The M2 is a great car but if I was in this situation and armed with information that's currently available, I would definitely wait for the M2C! Seeing how they claim the price won't fluctuate much - F that, it's a win however you slice it..

BTW, BMW FS extended my lease for 6 months above the 36 originally contracted. I did have to provide them a valid BMW factory order number for my replacement vehicle though But they allow short extensions.

Well it's going to be hard for people to get one in Aug, so will be 2019 or 2020 for a lot of people. That said if it was me I would wait to get one if you want.

Yeah, zero chance I would touch a N55 M2 after seeing all the upgrades to the Competition. Along with the slight increase in price.

Best guidance is to listen to your heart!

Only you know what you want and it is you that will drive and own the car. Nobody else can tell you that!

I was also really disappointed that there were no sexy colours like Burnt Orange or Yellow, so I bought LBB as I saw it as the least boring of the 4 colour choices. But, having seen how it looks in clear bright sunshine, I am really happy I got LBB ! It sticks out a mile

What is everyone basing this "slight increase in price" on given pricing hasn't been announced in North America? I have a hard time believing BMW is going to give buyers all these upgrades for free.

They've already done it in the UK, why don't you believe it?

Because it's a different market and UK prices don't always translate well to North America.

I guess we'll find out soon enough. I wonder if they will release NA prices after the reveal today.

And also because the equipment levels are different.

It usually gets you in the ballpark. Worked recently for M4CS, M3CS, M4GTS, etc... You just need to calculate the % increase. Granted standard options could be different.

UK OTR pricing for no option M2 vs M2C is about a 5.5% increase. The M2C in UK has the sport seats, perforated leather, and 788M wheels standard.

Not always but it's *something to guide us. It's not a guarantee but it seems to indicate not much of a price increase. BMW also mentioned in an interview the price would not be raised much.

" I can ensure you that we looked thoroughly into positioning the vehicle between the outgoing M2 LCI and the base M4. This is the main reason why we didn’t add a carbon fiber roof, adaptive suspension or ceramic brakes to the M2 Competition. We really wanted to make sure that the M2 differentiates itself from its bigger brother both on specification level and price tag. The base price will not increase drastically!"

You can sit there and go "oh well, until it's a official we can't know!" but all indications point to a small price increase. Now perhaps if you get every option because you feel like you must, then the price gap will grow.
