My experience of the Brussels auto show is that most of the spokesmen don't know a lot when going into detail. I even doubt there is a M-specialist.

- I'm amazed that delivery is possible mid year if ordered now, not possible in the UK, at least near to me.
- How was the Alcantara feel, good quality, its only in the door inserts and around the 6MT hood and handbrake? Assume this was a DCT car.
- I might be out of touch with this next one but I thought Adaptive suspension was not an option?
- Any more info you could ask from your contact about the MPerformance suspension coil overs?

Please for all the above of course, thanks again, nice info, looking forward to the pictures.
Let me answer your questions:

1. Tell me about it, the guy was not really clear and did not know all the right things to say
2. UK is a special market, especially because of the limited number
3. Alcantara felt good. Nicely. The CF is a bit cheap. It is not the glossy stuff from the M4 or what is used on the outside. This was a DCT.
4. Already answered that one
5. They did not know anything about the M Performance coil overs.

Sounds like the it usually does, show staff without real knowledge as there are a few errors in the answers... How hard can it be to find a person with real knowledge about the car?

The manual says it is available as well, but probably won't show if the car is not running.

Was talking to a BMW salesman today. According to him, total production will be only 2,500 units. If that's true, no time to waste...

Interesting... we ordered October 17 and the dealer's told us all the allocations for this year were called for and they were fighting with Bornem to find a way to get our car delivered before 2017.

Almost at the salon now, can't wait to see the M2 and hear what BMW has to say about delivery dates!

MR
So what are we concluding from this? That the guy completely didn't know what he was talking about and it is the same turbo as the 235i.... or is it an upgraded twin scroll single?

Great post and pics!

From the exterior pics, it looks like there is not much room/need for wheel spacers...seems like the wheel wells are pretty much filled out.

One person confirmed it is not the same turbo in this topic. Definitely not two turbos, but that we already knew. I think it is a upgraded twin scroll single developed by BMW themselves, so not like the M3/M4 where you have a third party turbo.

Reading all these comments above... One BMW spokesperson doesn't know what the other says, or hasn't got a clue. It is amazing that just saying "I do not know" isn't an option.

Feels like making people happy with a dead bird... I feel like that a bit after hearing all these things that were incorrect. You do wonder what kind of crap this guy is telling to people at the gala dinner tonight. #help

Well, if this is the case then I am pleasantly surprised. This solidifies the M2 as my next purchase. Thanks for the info!
