Daily driver. That's kind of the point over something like a Cayman. Actually won't track it and probably would be fine with the upcoming 240. But life is short and we have canyon roads here.

Only limitation I see for where I live is that I'll have to wait until the roads have been cleared during winter unless I want to get some chains to augment the winter tire set.

All of my cars are DD's, winter cars and track cars. I won't buy a car that can't serve all 3 roles

Just take a look at many of the questions on here, and it shows that people are either bored or desperate to come up with another topic until the next M2 tidbit comes along.
Well I don't mind it. I keep coming back here hoping to see something new but there hasn't been much lol.

Hmmm... my M3s and M4s were winter cars and had more than enough capability and I expect the M2 to be no different... you just need good winter tires (not performance winter tires which are no better than all seasons).

You are probably right. With some good snow tires and some winter driving skill, you can manage to get the ///M cars moving, but I am sure it is not the best winter driving car available. Sure it can be fun to drive it, but with the low clearance, stuck in traffic uphill would be another story

True... using an M car as a winter DD is absolutely doable but there are also absolutely better choices Anything with AWD to start.

Simply because UK availability is looking sparse. The current figure being banded about is around 400 a year to the UK (http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1184607)

Some larger dealers are getting 3 for the year, my local dealer looks like it shall only receive 1.

Pretty much the same here: Daily driver (all year), hopefully a few road trips and possibly the occasional tourist lap, but no real tracking.
