Looking good! Glad they are red instruments. Not only classic color they are easier on your eyes at night.

Are the instruments really red or just the usual "1980s BMW orange"?

I wonder about the adaptive suspension: These are the first materials about the car I've seen which mention it. I would probably get it if it was available, but it's not listed on any of the ordering info. No word about it in the german price list for example (also not listed as standard equipment).

Maybe UK-only? (if yes: why?)

I hope it gets adaptive suspension. And highlighting the mirrors like they are something special. Laugh. Who are they trying to kid.

I'm surprised more people aren't upset that the M2 doesn't have the CF strut brace under the hood like the M3/4. It's both beautiful and functional.

Hmmm. Wonder if it comes with pilot super sport tires or Continentals. FYI. M3/M4 are getting Continentals on a good number of cars now.

OK. I'm done. I've seen enough. I've thought about the alternatives enough. Going to put down a non-refundable deposit for an M2 tomorrow. This in spite of the fact that I have no more than an optimistic glimmer as to what the MSRP might be in the US.

44070 pounds vs 57070 for M4 translates to $20K less than M4

I wonder if we see that. It will bring it in under $50K

Non-refundable deposit before a known MSRP and allocation is not a good idea. But if 1k is nothing to you then why not?

It is great to read the brochure.

The fact that I read each page tells me how much I want one of these cars.

I saw the M4 yesterday for the 5th time at the dealership and survived the desire to test drive it. Let's see what happens the day I finally see an M2 in person.

M mirrors? People are still on about this.

How do you expect the car to cost 51k with all the drivetrain M stuff and get those mirrors and CF roof from the M4????

You have to give something up!

The M2 looks great, as is.

For ABOVE! While I respect the need to vent opinions, the whole mirror thing is really getting old.
I don't need winged DarthVader mirrors to have an M and a new M that's a bit different.

I find the "launch date" of April 16 to be interesting - has that date been floated before? I remember a reference to springtime in the US, but didn't realize an actual date had been discussed.

Why so late in the year? So weird...any goofyness like this for the 1M made sense, as BMW were operating on a truncated time table - but for a full run car like this? There's been some quirky things associated with the M2 launch that don't feel like the best planning has taken place. Just my $.02...

I'm thinking that's a pretty safe move. I've ordered two BMWs before test drives (135is and M4). Haven't regretted it for a second.

ALL deposits with BMW dealerships are refundable... unless there's something new I don't know about. You can order a purple car and refuse delivery once it arrives.

if they were refundable, why would you even need a deposit. you put money in to play and sign the order sheet/buyers order. unless the car is not what you signed for, you just bought a car

You are absolutely right and it's not that it's nothing.. it's a calculated risk that MSRP will be low enough. That and this is the only way to get one in my area before winter 2016 so there is a bit of avarice and greed for shiny objects in play.

Yea.. no test drive is OK. Not worried about that part.. worried about the unknown unknowns.

This should be true given there is no allocation or sales sheet yet as Tomahawk alluded to. However, at the least, it is not universal. One of the larger dealers, Schomp in Denver, is asking for a $1K non-refundable deposit to reserve a car.

How are they getting such high mpg numbers if on a 335i was a lot lower. I got the Dinan S1 package and it's no where near that gas mileage.

Secondly what is the actual max HP N55 will produce without sacrificing the motor?

Definitely understand the urgency and temptation.

But remember, unlike the 1M, this is a series car in a sense like the M3/4, and so far very reliable sources indicate it'll be produced all the way til 2018.

So far there are no more information from BMWNA about availability and pricing, so some dealers will try to sell the super limited 1M like story paired with things like non refundable deposits.

Not much you can do at first but once official announcement about the car's production length drops, I doubt they can keep these kind of unreasonable demands up.

About Schomp... Did they mention the capacity of this list?
