I have not seen Long Beach Blue Metallic in person. From internet photos, it looks like it may be close to Porsche's Sapphire Blue Metallic. Has anyone seen both of these colors in person? If so, care to comment?

Seen both of them and they aren't close at all.
LBB is much more metallic and is lighter in color. Blue Sapphire is a more classic blue, whereas LBB has some green and turquoise in it. Look at the picture of the F80 in the previous page, that's a pretty good representation of LBB even though thats Atlantis Blue.

If I lived in Germany I'd set up a car-wrap company just opposite the factory gates and arrange to take the hundreds of Alpine White customers' 2 series direct from the factory and wrap them in the colours those customers REALLY want, before delivery.

Yes I have, Porsche sapphire blue is a sky blue with no green hues.

LBB is very turquoise, lots of green, too much for my taste.

As others have stated, why pay extra for something you're not thrilled about. AW for me and then a wrap of my choice.

Perfection

On a serious note, I'd love to see more weight measurements on the M235i. I know the number 3500 lbs is floating around, but I'd love to see actual measurements of a very low optioned car. I would not be remotely surprised if it's the 3400 lbs range.

I feel like we have the exact same feelings about this car and what it represents. This car is going to be all about driving feeling/experience. I don't need any bells and whistles distracting me from the main purpose......fun and excitement!! I can't stand all those who have the belief of "what this car is missing". If that is what you really think, go by an M3/4, and leave the M2 for us enthusiasts

Lol this is just the same argument repeated over and over. I'm an enthusiast and I'm currently driving the M235i. I know the seats. I really feel like the grip on this car is going to overwhelm the standard sport seats. I'm a smaller guy and I feel that way. I can't imagine what a larger dude will feel like.

I can definitely understand why people would want options. Obviously, we're not all going to want the exact same car.

But you and I definitely have the same idea. If the car is readily available, I might actually end up waiting until LCI and see if LED's become available. That's about the only option I'd really want apart from heated seats. If it is going to be hard to get, I'll take my spot on the dealership list. I'm going to play it by ear.

Thanks BMW
you probably should....

or... perhaps focus on a particular color.. and if you do.... I bet it has a chance to become a color for the second generation M2.... or later production if they actually decided to change colors a couple of years into production.

Check out the 1M forums and how many threads there were on BLUE cars... and guess what color was added for the M2 and became the launch color.. ...

Agree with W/// on this.

I have tracked my 1M for four years... I don't have any complaints about these " sport seats" that I wouldn't over any other seat.

the only seat that's gonna hold me in the way I want to is a full race seat... Seats are easily removed with a ratchet and socket in about 30 minutes....... so if you feel you need better side bolstering in your M2... then go with 6 six point harnesses and a harness bar..

oh... and find some kid to code out the seat belt warnings ...

Agree. I understand if they are not offered. Costs. But still think the standard sport seats miss the mark on an otherwise near perfect package.
