Could be a early-production difference in the show car. Lets hope not.

I'd guess it has some sort of fold down seat. Not having fold down seats is better for chassis rigidity though but pretty inconvenient. I know the second gen Lexus IS had no option at all to fold down rear seats and the w204 Mercedes it was only an option which I've heard from friends is really annoying when they didn't know when they bought their cars just expecting it to be standard |

From visual - there is nothing that says Euro Spec. It would have to be related some inside information that was not shown in the video. |

All of Europe is LHD with KMPH (As far as I'm aware & I've been to a fair amount of it) The UK is the exception as its RHD with MPH. However I don't believe BMW themselves are making different spec M2's for different markets. The way I see it is the factory can make a M2 with a variety of options from LHD/RHD, mph/kmph dials to sunroofs, rear view cameras e.c.t Its then up to the individual markets (BMW UK, BMW USA e.t.c) to decided on how they market those options. For example In America I believe you simply have an 'executive package'? Here we have more choice in terms of speccing individual options. Ultimately though the cars are the same base / options. Going full circle back to the Detroit motor show I would expect an American spec car (LHD, MPH) for a big American car show. |

That does sort of address that particular question, but begs the question of why they'd show the features of a Northern Ireland market, euro-spec car in the states when they've already built a bunch of US-bound cars before that show?

According to the bmwusa.com feature list there is no split rear folding seats.

40:60 is standard on all BMW Coupès. However on something like a 3 series you have to add fold down rear seats as a option (in the UK at least) if you require access to the cabin from the boot. You'd think by 2016 that would be standard on a premium / executive saloon. |

I would love if it comes with it but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I went on bmwusa.com and clicked on See all standard features and it only mentions Folding rear-seat headrests then I check for the M4 and it says Split fold-down through-load rear seats

The show cars I have seen in person (two) plus the one's I saw photos in Monterey all appeared to be Euro spec (didn't have Nav as an example) so while I hope the seats will be folding I am not sure that the photos are representative of what we will get in the U.S. It makes sense that they would make all of the cars with fold down rather than having another variable in production but we have seen BMW do stranger things and they don't list it as a feature which seems odd.
