M4 GTS/ZCP seats

Anyone knows if this will be available as M Performance parts for M2?

What BMW representatives said at SEMA 2015 in an interview about M2 M Performance Parts:

See here:
Q: Any chance we'll see M Performance Seats available for order?
A: As of now there is no M Performance Seat in the works. However, if there are pure racing seats that are not homologated for the US that would be available at some point in the future, we would explore the possibility of selling them only through Motorsport (racing) Centers. Anyone looking to purchase motorsport parts through an approved BMW Motorsport Parts Center (see link above) is required to sign a liability release waiver stating the parts cannot be installed by a BMW Center and the vehicle will be used for off-road use only.
See also here:
Q: Will M Performance seats be available for the M2?
A: We have no plans. In general, from the feedback on the market, we would only sell a few. The customer is better off going and buying Recaro, especially if they’re moving safety systems, like seatbelts.

You'll be most likely able to install them - they share the same bottom frame.

E9x Performance seats work in Fxx vehicles, too.

Not a lot of love for the stock seats. Definitely a downgrade from my S4. Still don't understand why they didn't include real sport seats

BMW should look at the Porsche folding buckets. Now that's a real seat. Nothing impressive about what's in the ZCP/GTS.

The non-US GTS has pretty nice seats though.

Cost efficient marketing tactic.

Those are Recaro Pole Positions. Maybe they are wrapped to BMW leather spec but again it's nothing to brag about.

I had them in my E92. They were comfortable for what they are.

Still would like a folding carbon bucket from BMW. Shit would sell like crazy.

I was hoping to get the old M performance seats. And still can't understand why BMW decided to discontinue it.

Discontinued? Really? Those were nice. Again based on a Recaro seat just with side air bags, heat and alcantera.

Came across this photo of standard black M4 seats with blue contrast stitching on f80 forum.

Call me crazy, but I think it will look good in the M2.

Hopefully the shoulder and side bolsters will not causing any problem to fit these seats in the M2

That looks great! The one thing about the M2 that bothers me, ascetically speaking, is the look O the front seats. They just look dull and dated. The design of the stitching or something. Now, I love the M3/4 seats! I think they're by far the best seats ever to grace an M car. No idea why BMW let the M2 seats go to market. They are just.. Meh!

Well maybe with the M2 angled mounting they will fit in width wise... But based on the BMW seat back and height drawings i have seen I would be concerned about the seat folding forward if that is needed.

I was looking into that as well. However, M performance no longer offering those.

Recaro is still making the similar version, but I always like the OEM M4 seats.

I've been researching on swapping the M4 seats to my M2 (based on F22 M235i) once it arrives. The M4 seats should be a direct bolt-on, given they share the same base (frame/plastic cover, etc.).

I have been looking for the width of the back rest (shoulder/ side bolsters) to further confirm on the fitment. By looking at the photo, the M2 should have enough room.

Are these fitted with manual adjustment, or the same power stuff. I really want to ditch the power seats.

I would just get recarco sportster CS seats. The standard material is nice or you can have them customized. 97% the same and wayyyyyyyless. Without the added Air bag weight.

If you really want airbags (as I do), you can order Sportsters from EU with side airbags. They are the same units on the M Performance seats.

For whatever reason, Sportsters with airbags aren't sold here. Despite the M Performance seats with airbags being available once upon a time.

About halfway down there is photos of the M Performance seats installed in a LBB M2.
