My SA told me back in February that my production month would be May.I talked to him today because I wanted to see if there is now a VIN for my M2.He looked at my order on the BMW ordering system and there still is no VIN showing. He did say that the May production month shows on the screen as being confirmed by BMW in Germany. He is going to let me know when the VIN is showing in the BMW ordering system.
The dealers ordering system must show more info than what BMW Canada has.I called them again today and they said that my production number just shows the specs of my M2,with no assigned production month. |

According to my SA my M2 will be produced in August, so it will be a MY2017. But one thing is for sure, if there is really a $5000 price bump they will keep their damn car ! I ordered a MY2016 and it will not be my fault if I can't get it and get a MY2017. It will be at the price specified on my order or they will keep it, period !

if this helps figure truth from fiction, this is the reply i got back in march from Georgian when i was calling around...
"We've sold 2 so far. The first build being a June production. Still trying to find a production slot for the second. We can always get you #3?" |

When i went to see that black dct m2 that was unsold at Serpa BMW, i asked about 2017 pricing and one of the reps there said he doubts it would be much...perhaps a couple of hundred dollars....because they wouldn't want to encroach on the M4... Not sure if i buy this logic since they could A) easily increase the M4 price at the same time and B) what would be the point of only increasing it only a few hundred bucks? Hopefully there is no change...aside from the demand aspect, the dollar is actually stronger now vs when they announced the 2016 pricing. |

Or did you mean it was YOUR required delivery date?

My interpretation is that the "required" delivery date is the customer's request or constraint. The confirmed is the one BMW has committed to. But I could be totally wrong, as there is nothing that says BMW's system has to make sense.

Once again, who knows how much reliance to give to what one dealer says off the cuff. I am not going to panic until I start to hear something from my SA or GM. I would be surprised if they try to pull something like that in my particular situation (given what commitments I have in writing), but I have been surprised before.

A $5000 bump for 2017 makes sense. A fully loaded M4 does encroach on the base M5 price.
I think the required date is for those doing Euro delivery, or for HEA cars. I doubt it has anything to do with cars the dealer orders for customers or stock.
