After 5 Long Years...Finally Ordered My M2!
The M2 has been my dream car since it was unveiled in February 2016 while I was in grad school. I didn't have the money for it back then, but I knew that the car spoke to me in a way that no other car did and made it my goal. Now almost five years later, after climbing the corporate ladder and having the financial means to afford the car, as well as endless lurking on these forums, I finally ordered the M2 Comp in the color I fell in love with, Long Beach Blue. It's icing on the cake that it also now has the S55 engine rather than the original N55 that came with it back in 2016.
Now comes the long process of waiting for the car to arrive and to sell my current car, a 2015 335i with 6MT. Very excited to be part of the M2 community! |

congrats!! i'm planning to be placing an order behind you very soon.
[i'm not real savvy on this stuff] assuming that you already have an allocation since your build is already scheduled for production?

Yes, securing an allocation means you get a slot for the car to be built in the factory. The actual week (or date?) that the car will be built hasn't been scheduled yet. This is my first time ordering a new car so it was very interesting to see the process actually happen after reading about it on this forum so many times.

Congrats! I'm in the process of finishing up my order as well. Been working towards it for 3 years. Signed off on the build sheet this morning. Car is already in 112. I'm excited and a little anxious about the whole thing.

Congrats! Enjoy the process and look forward to seeing pictures when she is finally delivered!
I also made the jump from a 2015 6MT 335 to M2...albeit a slightly used OG. I loved the n55 in my 335 so much, I was happy to have it in my M2. At any rate, let the fun begin!

If they gave you a production number, the build sheet should show it. You can also just ask your sales person.
