Do not unfortunately. It has been at Laguna Seca and not kicked off the track though. May have given us a pass for all I know though.

Right guess my question is more geared towards, when would these be released.

I had my dealer order the exhaust and intake. It should be arriving the same time as my car next week, allowing them to install. I also ordered the sport boost controller. Since it makes the same ~30 HP as stage 1, I figured why spend the extra $1200 or so. I'll save up and get the stage 4 when the time comes. I'm confident the non-matching warranty sport unit is safe to use.

I believe the 1500 you spend on the stage 1 gets credited towards the 2500 when you go to stage 4!

Can someone confirm this?

That is correct. I'm going to wait until Spring for stage 4 so I'll keep that cash in my pocket for the time being.

Stage 4 is where it's at. Can't wait for it to come out. I really hope it'll crack 500whp on e85 or some blend.

Stage 4 has all but been confirmed to put down 400 on 93 based upon the M235 owners. Advertised as 445 hp for the M235 and 446 for the M2 if I recall Dinan_Engineering correctly.

I doubt e85 or any race fuel will bump you up 100 whp. I'd go Pure stage 2 with fbo, JB4 and meth if you want an absolute animal. I'll be satisfied with an M2 CS killer 400 whp car that's safely tuned and that can be DD with ease.

Dinan, is there going to be some sort of a formal "review article" when stage 4 becomes available (from dinan or preferably 3rd party)? Driviabilty is an issue. For example, the car already has some traction problems during acceleration, especially if the road is cold and/or wet. How is this addressed? Will the torque be somehow limited at lower rpms? Also, will there be 1/4 mi times available to see if this $$ upgrade has real world benefits?

Thanks.

Once released the S2 M2 and S3 M4 will be going down south for their final press tour together and you will get quite a bit of 3rd party reviews from an assortment of publications (C&D, Jalopnik, Forbes, R&T, etc). Anticipate that to be a relatively long press tour like the 1M had. Of course this means the articles wont start appearing til later in the spring however depending on various publication schedules.

As far as low end torque is concerned Dinan has never been one for a surge of power down low. Its memorable and puts a big number on a dyno but we always tip into power so that max power is made at, or close, to redline. Usable power is more important than a surge that feels awesome but serves little to no actual benefit.

We leave 0-60 and time to distance specs to others as there are a wide variety of factors involved in those metrics that more often then not cannot be replicated or can be skewed easily. C&D will do an instrumented test though I'm sure.

Stage 4 will be designed for our IC but you can use another companies IC if you desired. Results will vary though depending on cooling properties of the substituted IC.

Is anyone able to comment on the turbo sound from the Dinan intake? Looking for an intake that really emphasizes the spool

The Dinan is a closed box so it probably won't be as loud as say, the BMS which is open. Regardless, I'm sure it's louder than stock.

Patience is a virtue??

Spoke to a Dinan rep yesterday inquiring about the Stage 4 release... I was told probably early next year. It seems the waiting game continues.

Question for Dinan...will the Dinan warranty still hold on the Stage 4 if I use an intake from another manufacturer?

Thanks!

Better be a COMPARISON instrumental test this time. vs. stock would be the best.

Otherwise we can save the wait and just check all the good media reviews already out there on S4 M235i now.

Warranty will still hold but you would introduce a gray area on warranty coverage as we will not warrant another brands goods. If you start having codes related to the MAF as an example it would not be supported under the Dinan warranty as that would be related to the intake install. Basically, if a problem can be traced back to a non-Dinan/Non-OE part the claim will be rejected and you would be on your own.
