Great! Although I only 5'9" I don't sit that close to steering wheel nor knee pad. Looking forward to your experience with this mod. Thanks!

Is the OEM pad a snap-in fitment or is it held on with tape? If the former, I’ll get the IND version with blue stitching; if the latter, I’ll go with BM’s version.

I haven't received mine yet from BM but the OEM is snap in. However the thing with the BM is that it's much longer than the OEM and it has 50% more padding so they say. The IND one is the same size as the OEM one.

I lost money trying to ordered it for different model years of the F87 2016 - 2018, only to realized its just not available with the blue stitching in the US anymore, anything short of prying it from a 2016 M2. |

There is a guy on here who is trying to get rid of all the blue stitching in the car...not sure why, but hey...it's his car. I can't find the thread, but I think he was trying to sell his brake and shifter boots.
Anyway, I had already ordered and received mine from IND when I stumbled onto this guy, but he said he is willing to trade (straight up) his blue stitched version (he has non-LCI), for a black stitched version. I guess the first person to find him can do the swap. |

It's very easy—we test fit our pieces to ensure an OEM fit and it took less than a minute to pop off the OE unit and fit the IND variant. We will do a DIY with detailed instructions as soon as possible!
But in the meantime...we also have another version available—this time in alcantara

So I received my new knee rest from bimmer master pieces the other day. Looks pretty good to me and it definitely has more padding in it. Hopefully will install this weekend. I have a 2018 thus no blue stitching on the oem pad

I'm in for the video. My IND knee pad arrives today, and I'm sure the installation is a breeze, but I'll hold off on installing until the DIY instructions are up. I'm just extremely gun-shy about indiscriminately yanking things apart in my brand-new car.

Thanks but I took this out, in my dark garage, with my finger nails (male). It's pretty self-explanatory; pop in/pop out . I do understand why you made a video though.. Thumbs up on the alcantara version!

Any verdict M3Guy? Let us know how you like the adhesive method and if the whole thing works well for you.
