$120 for connected drive

That's the direction the industry is heading - subscriptions for additional profit.

It was $150 last year, so I was pleased to see it go down.

It was free with the car, but then after four years were up, it was only a $50 subscription fee to renew, which I felt was reasonable. With a 240% price increase this year, I thought there must be a cheaper option, but that was the only choice if you wanted to keep the connected drive. I did subscribe again, but that price increase is ridiculous. I doubt it cost BMW 240% more this year to provide the service.

So what is good or useful with Connected Drive? I have a US car in Europe so I've never had it or more correctly, I've always had it but it has never worked so effectively unConneced Drive!

33¢ a day. I probably lose that much in loose change a day. Well worth it for full connectivity.

I bought my M2 used and don't think I've ever used any of its functionality.

the only connected part I've seen is the car notifying BMW that I'm due for a brake fluid flush.

That price used to include the yearly car play fee - but that’s free now.
You used to be able to lock the car with an iWatch - but the new app can’t do that.
Not really much left what you get for $120…

I guess live traffic but google or Apple Maps can do that too…

You can lock and unlock you car with an iPhone. You also get location of the car.

Do y’all still have the weather app working? I recently resubscribed to BMW connected and the weather isnt there on my iDrive anymore lol

Only thing I ever used was the car location feature. I do kind of miss that, but not $120 worth of miss. Not worth it IMO.

It’s not worth it to me. The thing I didn’t like is that they include the voice texting in the service. That’s a safety feature, not a nice to have like traffic or weather. I don’t txt and drive but I’m sure that some will without that feature.
