Arrow M2 test mule spotted in Munchen...

Development of the M2 is underway... I saw this werkstestwagen recently in the Munchen area. The exhaust sounded good... simular to a fully catless N54. The color of the car was sort of a burnt red color. Close to Sedona Red, but "different". When I saw the car I thought it was interesting the car had Leipzig plates instead of M = Munchen ones. Last time we saw Leipzig tags was on the 1M prototypes.

Nice spot. Must be an old mule as the exhaust doesn't have the quad pipes we saw on the latest one.

Good to hear re the exhaust note though

Looks like we can expect the rear to look just like the M3/4. I hope the front doesn't look like the M3/4.

Side note, just saw a 1M the other day and was reminded how wide it looks with that short wheel base. Super excited for the M2 reveal.

I can't wait to see the progress on this thing. A carbon roof similar to the F8X chassis would be most excellent.

Too bad M2 again won't get CF roof (seing from the spypics). This M2 again being half an M car, I doubt later prototypes will get CF roof, other it would have S55 engine.

SO far the car still has the M235i racing body kit. I'm losing hope that they'll change in the production version.

I predicting that the final car will have a slightly uprated motor from the 1M. It will also keep those fenders from the M235i Racing.

I was just about to say, the rear flares are actually molded into the body on this mule. OMG

It wasn't. This car had a new color I had not seen before on a BMW. The best way I can describe it, was a faded almost flat/frozen Sendona Red color. Maybe @Scott26 can tell us more about the color ?

The M2 will have CF roof. It is just too much weight saving not to be had...

Love the rear flairs. Now, do the same in the front (instead of the over-fenders) and add the carbon roof...it's all good!

This is not the final body. These prototypes use the M235i Racing body to help with the wider track. The new body is influenced by the M235i Racing as well as the Vision Gran Turismo Concept car.

If we bring the front end of the Vision GT to a more realistic view in terms of proportion it is almost exact.

Some equipment and features are not deemed necessary at this point as the chassis and engine will be the current priority for the engineers.

Details come later.

They have new specific M colours developed but in no way have they confirmed what models they will be applied to. As for Specific M colours that have been created there is a sort of burnt Orange metallic a sort of Kyalami Orange remix , a new Red colour kind of like a much brighter Sedona Red and yes a new Blue.
Despite being the launch colour for the 135i Coupe the order rate was not successful hence why it was replaced at the LCi.
What cars they will come with is anybody's guess at this time.

After the new BMW X5M and X6M that will be launched later this year. The M2 will be the next all-new M car. There will be a hiatus until the next M5 but in between there will be the M4 GTS which could use the Orange colour as a nod to Fire Orange.

It already looks to be a better color selection than the current M3/M4 launch offerings.
