2017 vs 2018

For those the have had a 2017 M2 and now a 2018 , disregard transmission, what are the differences plus or minus in the 2018 over the 2017

Thanks

I don't think you'll find many who hopped from a '17 to an '18. It's all cosmetic anyway.

LED cluster & taillight are the main change in 2018, hex open frame headlight as an option in 2018, if not then will be remain the same as 2017.
Console close to the passenger side also has a bit different in design. Harman Kardon, electronic seat, heated steering wheel already come in standard in my 18, not sure about 17 though. Oh... and the touchscreen functionality in 2018

I don't think so. The LED headlights and tail lights alone make the 18 a winner.

MY17 tail lights look better. The my18 LED headlights look better and function better.

The sunroof option became available in the U.S. 2018 LCI.
Although all of my 3-series had sunroofs, I really don't miss it.

Really glad I got the sunroof!

I use it alot just to let more light in, not always opening the glass. It's also great early evenings...

Not that many differences between '17 and '18, especially if you don't care about a sunroof.

Pre LCI didn't have an oil/coolant temperature gauge. You can get aftermarket displays for the '16's and '17's though.

No. I prefer the dash design of the '18 as well as the cluster and headlights. At first I wanted the pre-LCI tails, but when I saw the new ones in action with euro indicators, I was sold.

LCI is where it's at but the 16 & 17 M2's rear tails lights are sick.

Sick I tell you !

I have a pair in of pre-LCI taillights in my garage collecting dust. If you or anyone wants them, pre-pay for the shipping and it's yours for free..

Lol

People wreck cars all the time.

Clean them up and post them in the 228/230/m235/m240/M2 FS forums.

Agree about the dash design - a major improvement in my opinion (and totally unexpected). Tail lights are no better or worse to me (16/17 better if forced to choose ) but the LED headlights and new gauges are nice too. And don't forget the sliding cup holder cover!

Changes in 2018

- LED taillight changes
- Adaptive headlight option with hexagonal LED haloes and adaptive LED headlights
- Interior change in trim design and center console layout
- New gauge cluster--still analog but without grey dials and without orange backlight
- Sunroof now an option in US
- iDrive upgrade and touch screen
- Strategically placed additional sound deadening/foam

Is it a big difference for the sound insulation ?

The dashboard that wraps above and around the instrument cluster looks approximately a million times better than the previous iteration.

Also, and this is 100% fact, LCI drivers are 3x better looking than their 16/17 and M2C counterparts.

Weather strip on chassis missing https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1200964

It think you're referring to the thread above. It's a discussion on a missing door seal. I did it on my car, it helps when your on the Bluetooth.. People hear less background noise..
