The tips make the exhaust look finished and not like someone cut a pipe off your car. Stock tips won't fit. |

i don't think that's even close enough to even have to start worrying about neighbors yet. When you start straight piping is when you should worry haha

Great comparison my vote goes for the Akra. Love how beefy the rear end of both cars look with those diffusers

M Performance sounds great; Akra sounds better and sets the reference IMO. You get what you pay for. That's why my F30 has an Akra. Simply the best.

I can tell you that the M2 with the MPE exhaust is shear joy to my ears. Especially once you engage the secret "track/race mode" settings via BT. When I drove Artemis 's M2 his MPE sounds just right. Lots of pops and bangs/crackles. Plus the MPE is totally legal - no cat delete(s). Its the way to go if you ask me.

I'm shocked to my very core! I have to say MPE sounds a lot deeper and I have no clue why the infamous Akra sounds way too dry. Two thumbs up for MPE!! Oppps...never mind, The Akra equipped with Downpipe and the MPE not. No wonder it's too dry. My bad! They both sounds wonderful

M sport sounds better. The other sounds like a slightly better muffler delete. You can get that same sound for under 3-400 bucks. Straight throughs, jpipes, 1 open, 1 closed and a flash burble exhaust tune. The M Sport sound more refined

MR., this is going to be harsh, but nothing personal whatsoever. I know the better exhaust is always the one on viewer's car, but that still doesn't justify posting a completely misleading thread like this, comparing a full exhaust system including DP to a cat-back, without even mentioning that in OP.
In all fairness, catted DP is what matters and it alone demolish Akra cat-back system, to that you don't even have to listen hard. It's rather a video of MPE up against DP that you posted, yet MPE turns out getting more favor, a very clear indication of its superiority to Akra system, should everything else be equal. There is few hearing more real world F8X sounding systems comparison than people around here me included. We have a local group of some 200 F87 owners sharing and meeting as often as we want. Let me be completely straight, general consensus is that IRL side by side comparison, Akrapovic sounds inferior to MPE, to the point where even Akra owners would admit defeat, ego put aside, only wishing they'd known it better earlier. Call us crazy, three of us already made the switch from akra to MPE. Also, not just MPE, there are many other better sounding F87 systems than Akrapovic in the market, and that is even in the opinion of those who don't like loudness. Many of us went DP only and called it a day, couldn't be happier. With Akrapovic F87 full system, it's the DP part that you really like, I'll give you that. That being said, workmanship, lightweight and a few ponies gains claimed by Akra though questionable are really what you pay for. Last edited by SeanWRT; 03-22-2017 at 02:30 AM.. |

Try rolling down your window before you hit the start button.
Pretty loud stock.
