And I heard the DCT on the TT RS is as good as the Porsche's PDK or even better, in some reviews.
If you can't power-on oversteer then it's not a car I want. But like I said, everything else is great.

You can actually. Turn off everything and they said you can get some oversteer.

Again, since you don't track your cars, this means little to you. But it means a lot to drivers who do, because that bias materially affects how it handles, especially at the limit.
I see, thanks!

What I don't get and maybe someone can shed some light on this, but if the TTRS and RS3 are coming to the US this year, then why are they not on the Audi USA website as "future vehicles" or an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show? I believe August was the date for the RS3 and still nothing official from Audi USA.

Best source for Audi TT RS stuff:

http://www.ttforum.co.uk/forum/viewt...f=98&t=1107970

UK site, but they are very active...

The configurator still hasn't popped up on the German and U.K. Audi sites yet.

I'm not surprised though... This is Audi we are talking about. Always playing second fiddle to BMW's M division and Mercedes' AMG division.

This thread is troublesome as it implies that it might not come at all.

http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads...uction.299716/

Can anyone confirm/deny this info?

It is from way back in November.

Nothing we can do right now, it is supposed to be a summer release.

I really like this car! Let's see what happens. Can't wait to build it online.

Dunno if this was already stated here but in EU TTRS and RS3 holdup is due to new refrigerating agent that had to be used in R5 engines (due to changing EU Emissions/Eco standards for 2017). New fluid turns out to be highly flammable at higher temps and is a concern in case of a spill after an accident.
They are working to solve that somehow.
The 300 something test TTRS cars that were released to dealers in December 2016 were done so on purpose because the old cooling agent was eligible up until end of last year.

So in other words, 300 people are at risk....typical VAG

no, you got that backwards. The 300 aren't at risk because they use the current coolant, not the new "highly flameable" one.

Put a bigger rear sway bar on. geeze. not like you can't mod these things. My A4 would hang it out under power easily.

Just curious, when these type of setbacks happen, do they do other changes to the models, so they don't lose the edge versus the competition? Technology wise or some other update?

Some people say that the RS3 might be even moved to beginning of 2018 and TTRS to Q3-Q4 depending how fast they can resolve the coolant issue.
Here is the original Audi & Audi Sport pipeline for 2017 (whether it is before or after the above stated coolant problem, I have no idea):

Funny how the dates don't match on the two slides...
Fate is consipiring against me... Wanted to get ED on an M2 in June (gonna be there anyway), and can't get a car, so was going to consider the RS3 sedan, and now that's pushed out it looks like. Tried to buy and R8, but dealer sold it out from under me. Hmm. Will have to just stick with the Bug this year lol.

I think the difference comes to when ordering starts at the dealers and when delivery starts to the market maybe?

In any event, the TTRS and RS3 are not on the Audi USA website at all. Not even in the "future vehicle" section. Someone on Car and Driver mentioned that it was not on their Audi USA dealer list. It does not look like the TTRS and RS3 are coming to the US in 2017.

So if they launch it as a 2019 model in the states,

It will probably have upgrades and updates, right?

Ah, you are probably right. Weird. S4 missing from the site too.

One thing the M2 and RS3 both have in common is they are the most expensive model on the cheapest platform and neither is super attractive. M2 looks better and may be more fun to hoon, but interior, tech and the very tunable 5cyl in the Audi are a big draw too. Looks like "neither" lol... I'm gonna let fate decide... I'll keep trying for a decent deal on R8 V8 Manual and if I don't get one by the time a M2 or RS3 pops up, I'll get one of those instead.. can't lose with any of these choices!

There's several rumours for the delay, one of them being that a legal argument is awaiting court time for the coolant issue.Apparently it's not only Audi.

He got the worst wheels and a very Audi bland color...

Exhaust and interior is perfect.

As we all know, it is must faster than M2, but M2 is cheaper by 7.5-15k.

Of course, as discussed, those are not the only two factors, and certainly not the only two important factors, which distinguish the two cars.
