To me the M3 is just too big, so I say M2 all the way. I sold my M3 for an M2 and am on the list for my local dealer's M2 CS, but if the M2 CS wasn't coming I'd get a standard M2 with M Performance suspension.

If you have a family and drive it year round I would go M3, for summer car or track day car and no kids, M2

If I had your M3, I would not have bought an M2. Having neither, I would have bought the M2 instead.... If you can afford both, why have two cars with similar missions? Keep the M3 and get a full on sports car as the 2nd car.

For Taiwan I'd keep the M2, the roads are small and congested and the The M2 will be more fun on the mountain pass roads. There's not enough room/space to take advantage of the power of the M3.

Get the alcantera dash and some carbon fiber bits to solve the "cheap plastic" problem. Choose one of the many alternatives to lower the M2 and improve the stance. After that, the issue boils down to the practicality of the M3 vs. everything you like about the M2. Not hard to guess which way I lean.
