Trofeo R vs MPS Cup 2
Anyone have any feedback or comparison on these two tyres?
I'm trying to decide which to get for a track dedicated setup. Either the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R or the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. I'm looking for best outright performance for track days, these won't be used in the wet or road. How do they perform when at the limit? |

From what I've read (only driven cup2 on street) the trofeo R is in a different league than the cup2, but also a bit pricier and harder to get.
I'd go Pirellis in your case. |

Cup2 are also nice, but they lose significant grip after a couple heat cycles. My recommendation would be to go with the Nitto NT01 if you want a set of tires that will last at least a full season, and possibly more, and which won't dry out after a few heat cycles. I had Trofeos on my car and swapped to Nitto and have loved them so far. Definitely less grip overall, but they wear nicely. |
