I now can testify personally to the audio for a stock exhaust/Fabspeed catted DP combo, on a car with ASD coded out.

Superb.

Excellent!

I have the ASD delete harness, I just need to install it. I'm hoping to do that before I get the exhaust stuff installed. I'll be interested to hear what the stock exhaust system sounds like inside the car without it.

I installed the ASD harness a couple months back - sounds pretty similar to me, only a little quieter. I'm really looking forward to hearing the HFC/no ASD sound in person once mine arrives.

The first thing I did was the ASD Bypass Harness. I hate that fake sound being pumped in. I want to hear my exhaust straight from the source!

Sorry no other videos yet. Just haven't had time. That is the exact combo. Fabspeed HFC, Dinan resonator delete and stock muffler. I got my HFC from Mike a X-PH a vendor here. Great Deal and very friendly and super responsive.
Good Luck, you will love the combo.

Fabspeed HFC

So couple of questions...first, how much louder is it with the fabspeed / resonator delete vs stock?...a little v alot....10% v 40% louder?

How noticeable was spool up/ performance increase?

Why drop out the resonator, I thought that the performance and tonal change was pretty minimal and that it was there to diminish any drone affect?

Just curious, though clearly my first move is getting rid of the ASD!

Thanks
Dan

On cold start up it is definitely more noticeable than stock for sure. Once is warms up it deepens the stock exhaust tone substantially. If you are looking for a percentage I would say it is probably 40% louder over all. The pops and burbles are way more accentuated. You can hear the turbo spool very clearly upon acceleration with a definite increase in performance. Acceleration is much quicker and hits way harder. As far as the resonator, I definitely noticed a deepening of the tone of the exhaust without any added drone what so ever. And get rid of the ASD asap. If you have any other questions hit me up.

Justin

Bumping this old thread. Which gasket is recommended to change out when installing the sportcat? Is it part # 18307581970 ?

I just ordered the FabSpeed Sport Cat Downpipe for my 2018 M2. I plan on running it with the stock exhaust, and flashing to Stage 2 VF HEX tune. How much louder than stock do you think the downpipe will be with the unmodified stock exhaust?

Okay thanks guys. I was getting my DP installed in a few days but read it was recommended to change the gasket when installing. Just wanted to make sure before I do.

I got a new gasket since that was recommended to me. My installer also highly recommended a new clamp (I didn’t bring it which prolonged the install ) and not reuse it. They only do bmws so I assume they know their stuff.

I'm curious about the fabspeed/stock catback sound too. Please post when you have it installed
