As others have said, people notice my MG, but they definitely seem to be folks who know what they're looking at. Had a guy stop me to ask about it in a parking lot yesterday, turns out he drives a 911. So it's the enthusiasts, which is exactly how I want it.

I had noticed a glance here and there, and once a guy that walked out from behind the delivery van he was unloading as I passed by. Yesterday I was sitting my my car in the post office parking lot texting my wife when I noticed a teenager looking at me. I rolled the window down and he asked if I could rev the M2.
I did have a guy waiting for his car at the dealership comment on the color once, but he didn't know of the M2 so a slightly different interaction. |

You might as well have been in a Prius. .. lol You might find others if you get out and live in it a little with some more variety for dinner too ... ( hint - some different people might see you if you roll to a different restaurant) |

I went for MG as I wanted it to look a bit understated and I like how much it is under the radar, in fairness people tend to hear it before they see (as was the case at a hotel yesterday)
People do want to chat about it and when I parked at the Goodwood Members Meeting a gent in an Aston came over to have a natter and asked what it was like (doubt he would have if I was in a TTRS, there again in a TTRS i would have been further away as of course I would have got there quicker) Best response was from a load of ten your olds around the corner from me who yelled cool car and about 5 mins later were admiring it on the bottom of the drive, ten year olds no their stuff |

FWIW I have had my MG for 2 weeks now and I do get the occasional stare/head turn. Probably ~5 times that I've noticed so far and that's not including little old ladies scared/confused by my crackling and popping as I drive by. Additionally, some kid and his GF in a lightly modded 330 just followed and filmed me on their phones for a half-mile or so. This is all before break-in service (read: passive driving) scheduled for this Friday. Also receive a lot of comments at work.
I went with MG to be low key. This car has plenty of presence while parked and driving. Location also plays a role I'm sure; I'm located in Keller/NRH/Southlake TX and work in SW Fort Worth. |

When I come out of the touchless car wash and am driving slowly through the drying section people driving in the parking lot slow down and stare. The dry cycle lasts a minute and I would say almost every single male driver whether he is in a truck or POS will crank there head and look the whole time they drive across. That M2 front end is a work of art and people appreciate it. Kind of like Kate Upton...

Too much attention! I get the weekly compliments and I get weird questions and comments too.
Like did you buy it? Is it yours? I ordered an M5 last week. I'm getting one as soon as my lease is up! Just a few examples of what people been saying.

Got lots of love and thumbs ups leaving a Caps game last night. This car is just insane in a city with the exhaust echoing between the buildings, almost obnoxious. Lol

In the past week I've played around with a Huracan Spyder (huge smile and thumbs up after) on an open highway and had a request to rev out from a GT4 (he played back and it sounded amazing!).
So, mostly other enthusiasts that appreciate the car.

The other day I stopped at a red light here in Chicago and offered a few bucks to a pretty old looking (but well built) homeless man. He walks to the right window from the front end of the car and accepts the money.
Old guy: "This is the first that I've seen an **" Me: "Sorry," I thought I heard M2 but wasn't expecting that at all. Old guy: "This is the first that I've seen an M2" Me: "Oh! you know the baby M" all smiles, I give him a high five Old guy: "Do you know what else I know when I see it, a _ $ bill. Thank You and God bless you" and leaves. He made my day. I am guessing, he noticed the M2 decal on the front grill. The guy knew where to look at. I keep getting thumbs up every now and then but mostly from enthusiasts who know what they are looking at. |

I was just parked at a hotel and this girl walking by with her boyfriend saw my car and took a photo of it and told her guy they should get that car. The first time I've had a car that does that lol
And when I was doing my cross country road trip every stop someone was checking it out. Parking valets love it. Finally in Cali a guy in a taco bell was asking me what that car was and I had groups of car meets give me waves as well as bikers passing by on mountain roads making the "perfect" sign with their hands. People really do enjoy this car! |

Not at all.
I especially hate it when those 328 drivers or worse, 320, or some idiot VW driver (yesterday on PCH) tried to cut me off or break-check me. |

Do you guys think people have noticed you noticing them notice your car?
I haven't seen anyone really take note of mine but I usually am not on the lookout for people noticing. |

if i may add my experience after 4 days, i own a BSM which most will agree is a mean but more subtle looking colour then the others, where i live in the eastern part of the Czech Republic is quite a less economically developed area, i mean you have your odd x5's and x6's and mercs but no cars like M2 Or M4 or very little, i expected some attention but its beyond anything i imagined, people take pictures while crossing the road, from inside they're cars next to me, at bus stops people literally just glare and when i press the traction button to open the exhaust ( i call this popcorn mode because its ridiculous how much it pops ) i literally hear people who i drive past swearing in czech ( HOLY SHIT ) when they hear the overrun i literally get the feeling i am driving an Aventador or something not to mention inside multistory carparks people literally just stop and stare non stop for the whole duration of me leaving my space , however my most satisfying moment had to be when i stopped to let 2 girls cross a road yesterday, and i recognised one of them from the shopping centre from about 15 minutes before that and being young and fearless i shouted out the window to her '' aren't you that pretty girl from the shopping centre?''. long story short i pulled over and got her number gold digger or not its still funny. can't get over the stock system i don't think i've ever heard a stock exhaust like it i love the M2!
on the minus side to all this attention is every single idiot in they're stupid VW or Skoda's literally try to provoke races either driving up my ass or cutting me off, not to mention stupid bike riders who pull wheelies next to me this just pisses me off especially when im only just running in the car! just have to rise above Last edited by krizze; 03-24-2017 at 03:48 AM.. |
