Car.com 45 listings for 2017 M2 in USA today
When I do a nationwide search of new cars, there are 45 new 207 M2's available. Pricing isn't very good but greedy dealerships understand the need to negotiate. I do need my allocation slot by trolling the dealers with adds for cars and then made the simple offer of MSRP. Took me just a couple days and most of that was ordering my car and placing the deposit through emails. I did find that many of the listings were "window bait" for the dealer trying to sell allocation slots. Hope this helps someone find their M2.

Dealers are scamming/gouging ignorant/lazy consumers...its quite simple.
AutoTrader showing 69 in the US. I see 30 cars under $60k. 7 under $55k These are both new and used. Here is a used one under $50k. These cars are not in short supply...that is clear. There's is an artificially created hype because they are the new-new. Sorry, I'm not buying into that. |

23 used cars nationwide on cars.com and this includes 2016 cars. You need to understand that new cars are automatically listed on these sites as soon as they arrive EVEN IF THEY ARE ALREADY SOLD. These can be pre ordered cars for customers on lists. Including new cars in your search gives you no idea how many cars are available. Most of the used cars are $60k, and asvI've tracked them, they are turning over - at some unknown price.

I seriously doubt USAA data is accurate. To be so most would be getting 4-6k off of MSRP and that just isn't happening. USAA is a great company but that doesn't mean they are correct here. Ask them to get you a M2 for $50,680 and see what happens. I can already tell you, they cannot get you one.

Having just gone through this almost all the cars listed at MSRP are just dealer auto generated inventory for cars already sold. The ones that were in stock are actually then marked up by dealer once you call. I finally found one at a dealer that was ordered and buyer never showed to complete the deal. Was listed at MSRP but when I called they told me "we sell all of our M2s at $5k over invoice." I did not respond well to this but a few days later they decided that $1,000 over retail would be ok. This worked for me. Not ideal but boy am I happy to have the car. Arrived with 5 miles on the clock, LBB, 6MT and a blast!
I agree that most of these cars are going in the High $50k range. I would bet there are less than 10 cars in stock and available at under $60k in the US right now. There are several press demo cars starting to show up now selling about at MSRP with about 1000-2000miles on them but I just couldn't talk myself into buying one after seeing they way they are driven before break in period. Cheers to all those on search. Cars are out there just keep looking and calling. |
