iDrive rebooted itself while driving...

Hi all,
Im curious if this has happened to anyone else. Basically, I'm driving along listing to Sirius radio when out of nowhere the sound stops, I look at the screen and scroll through the channels which are now all listed as the same number(633563) a moment later the screen went black for about 5 seconds. Then the M logo apeared and the radio and all functionality returned.

Happened on my E92 M3 a few years ago, but only once or twice. No lasting issues came of it.

Did it happen in your M2? Is it a MY '16 or '17?

This happened on my 2015 m235i. Only once. I've rebooted my office pc before, but it was a surprise when my car rebooted.

MY17 M2... I did get an email a few hours later from Sirius thanking me for my activation. Maybe that had something to do with it? I'm going to bring this up with BMW Genius.

I've had it reboot three different times on my MY16. All three occasions were a day or two apart and then stopped altogether...FWIW

My amp died a month ago. It did exactly what you described after I got it back, but only once.

Used to happen to me a lot but only when using the navigation, i-drive would reboot numerous times and then finally reset all the settings. Had to have the i-drive unit itself replaced.
Has happened once since the replacement.

I expect the number was 65536, the max value for a 16bit integer.

Normally I'd agree, except my MY17 just did this today, repeatedly, and now won't even turn on. Which means no rear view camera.

Taking this to the dealer
