True on both counts! I don't think you'll find any of their tires made in France though. Or China for that matter. I don't have any super sports at the moment - run out to your car and see where they are made!

Nice tire and wheel. Looks like HRE has a new flowform design, looks very Audi. Love the PSS, can't live with anything else, look forward to the nxt gen.

Yes. For their top performance summer tire line through time it goes: PS2 -> PSS -> PS4S. The PS3/PS4 is a different market segment target tire, and yes, Michelin has done a terrible job in their market planning department naming these tires.

Cute and constructive. They've been out in Europe since January and you can even get them now through Tire Rack. With them out I'll be totally pissed if I need to spend $1100 to get decent tires on a brand new car.

All tires that go onto BMWs have to have that little BMW star. There is no information I am aware of that a star version of the PS 4S has been made. I am pretty sure if we see the 4S adopted for the M2 that would be something they would announce and likely do so at the change of a model year. My guess is it will be some time before the 4s is on an existing model. I have the Conti's, they are are not terrible by any means but I am looking forward to trying the 4s, have the rears sitting in my garage now and the fronts should be here in a couple of days.

As stated above, BMW has not shown that they are doing a "*" version of the PS4S (yet). Thinking that a March build M2 is going to be fitted with aftermarket versions of the PS4S is a zero chance probability. I stand by my guess, and it wasn't intended to be "cute."

I concede, actually forgot BMW does OEM tire designations. The only consolation I'm thinking is that a set is only $1100, which is pretty reasonable for a 19" tire set of some of the best tires around.

I put my set of 4s on earlier this week. After a couple of hundred miles they are head and shoulders above the Conti's. Better turn in, better overall grip, less noise and vibration. I had a fair amount of life left in the Conti's and was worried I was wasting money but after a few days and couple hundred miles I have no such concerns anymore. BTW I put about 9,000 miles on the Conti's the rears were at 6/32 when I took them off and the fronts were between 8 and 9/32

Just ordered the 4S tire. I plan on doing a good review on them so hopefully everyone can get a good idea of the tire. Going with 245/30/20 and 295/30/20

Haven't driven on either, but they are in different categories; the RE71R is closer to a PS Cup. I am not sure if the RE71R is suitable for daily driving, depending on where you live and how much it rains. I am sure the wet grip is great, but the hydroplaning resistance is questionable with any tire having so little void area in the tread.
