R888 235/35/19 x 265/30/19
I need a set of cheaper track tires, Michelin's are wearing really fast and cost a fortune. The r888 is my optimal choice buy only come in the above mentioned sizes. Any concerns/experience? Would they fit well/any rubbing etc? These will be used almost exclusively for track and driving from and to the track. Once I'm done (3-4 track days) I'll put the pilots back on the car.

AD08R
I ran 888s for years on my Z06, they do tend to run a little large, but I would suggest that you stick to stock sizes ( maybe 255/275 as well ). I drive my M2 to and from the track in wet and dry so I am trying the Yoko Advan AD08R in stock sizes....you can also use the Bridgestone RE71. I consulted my tire guys and they say the Yokohama tires will be a well balanced track tire with good durability.

The Bridgestone RE71R is excellent for autocross and for driving to and on track as an extreme summer tire. The Bridgestones are the fastest street tire available. I've used the Advan Ad08 as well and they are much more suited for track use than the Michelin PSS, especially in hot weather when the michelins can chunk. I would definitely stay with stock sizing or move up to 255/275 as opposed trying to put less tire on the car. That just won't end well. ( Note I don't think the Bridgestone 255 will fit up front so do research there) If you want an easy wearing R type tire (like the R888) that you can actually drive to the track, you might check and see if the maxxis Victra is available. They wear like IRON. I can't kill them at the track and drive them on the street in between events because they are so indestructible. They aren't a fast tire but they are very reliable and consistent, which is great for lapping days. |

R888s are perfectly fine driving to and from the track on.
I'm an RA1 fan, but you'd have to (try) and run 275 18" square. Speaking of which, are you using stock wheels? Is that why you're going w/19s? If it were me, I'd be buying 18" track wheels. Cheaper tires, less weight/rotational inertia, etc.
