Is that button panel a drop-in replacement part for USA vehicles?

For this, save the shortcut on the screen right before the TPMS display

First annoyance in my car is that occasionally the iDrive controller sometimes acts like it gets touched which stops the navigation map tracking. Could be car ghosts.

I believe the picture that was posted with the button to turn off the sensor isn't from an M2 so it's not a Canada vs USA thing. I'm assuming its in the 335 since that's what the person posting that is listed as having.

That said, there is another thread around here someplace where someone modded that panel to add that button.

It basically sounds like you can just order this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2820065...&ul_noapp=true

Then swap out the comfort/sport rocker (if you want to keep what you have) and drop it in.

How do you bookmark a screen to appear on start?

Long press of the number buttons. The bookmark will be whatever page/action would come next if you pressed Enter (click down on iDrive wheel). But instead of enter, program it to one of the numerical buttons. You will also see a prompt show up on the iDrive screen

Yes, I know how to program those buttons as I have them all programed for various things, but it looked like you were saying some default selection would come up when you start the car? Please clarify.

Thank you,

Mike

and by the way there are plenty of little bugaboos with this and ANY car. LOL

OK, OK, so I should have said "You lucky Canadians with your affordable healthcare"

In any case, I was just being cheeky. Not interested in getting into a forum debate over healthcare. Let's keep it to a subject we can all universally agree on: The M2 is a great car.

You and I will simply have to agree to disagree on the other stuff.

My annoyance: the short stretch of empty road that's available in front of me until a plodding vehicle makes its presence known whereby greatly hindering my fun. This car has turned me into the prototypical douchebag BMW driver and I embrace it.

I don't understand why BMW did not do this right. Looking back all my cars before (Volvo 850T; Mit Gallent VRM; 2 Subaru Lagacy B4; Golf GTI; Audi RS3 etc) which has back senor, they will just function when your are in Reverse mode, whenever you put it in Drive or Neutral or Park, the sensor just stop, it is so easy?????? I don't know why BMW can't do this correctly.

Having said that, I still love driving this M2, it is FANTASTIC!!!

Is that in reference to MY 2016+ ? I hope so, that would be a welcome change from a few years ago. The POS nav I have lived with in my various '12 X5s over the years (and currently) is BRUTAL. Every time BMW has sent me a service survey and there is that question about improving features or engineering in their vehicle, I have taken the opportunity to vent about them providing negative value with their navigation while having the gaul to price that as a $1700 option when new. /end rant
Since the F30 '12, the Nav in BMWs is stellar and I love it in my HUD...

Since that panel is plug and play I wonder if we can swap out our rocker switch into the new panel since we don't have eco pro mode in our f87s lol. Anyone tried that yet?

Hit 5000kms on the 2017M2, couple annoyances. Firstly the seat belt, reaching back for it sucks as I have a bad shoulder. None of my other cars, trucks, SUVs, nor my previous M3 bother me like this one. Every single time I try to reach for the seat belt I have to exceed my range of motion. I end up reaching across with right hand to grab it, which is a pain in the Butt.
Also I cruise with my arm rest slider in the fully forward position, when I park and pull the handbrake the handbrake contacts the arm rest and pops it open. At least my M3 the slider would just slide back when the brake handle hit it.
Also I too end up accidentally hitting top of idrive controller thus putting navigation into position save mode. I manuall shift my DCT using the stick, so might by my jacket dragging across top of idrive controller since its touch sensitive now.
Also being picky now but the Heated seats get too hot on low.
Minor things as car is great to drive.

No, we dont that have button down here on our cars. I suspect BMW would say the extra button detracts from the high performance driving experience, just like a sunroof does.

It is a minor annoyance not being able to shut that damn thing off. Even with the 6MT. You stop backing up and put it in neutral and the reverse cam and beeper are still going. Annoying.
I think this is a BMW-wide feature. I currently drive a F30 and mine does the same thing. I have to put the transmission in Park or pull the Handbrake to get it to shutup. Same story in the wife's X3. We have buttons so hitting the button will get it to be quiet.

I've not done this myself, but one of the posts in the thread I linked to seems to indicate you can just replace the eco pro rocker on that panel with the comfort rocker from the M2.
