Just my 2 cents, and a peek into my mind...
I'm spending the money because all of my other BMW's (besides my last one) looked like a sand blaster hit the front of them after 3 years. I guess it's the sandy NJ roads? I've paid to have the fronts repainted, only to have it happen again after a couple of years. A proper frontal paint job ain't cheap. When I went to sell them, I had to disclose that the front was repainted, which lowers the resale value. My e39 M5 had a partial frontal 3M clear bra installed by the previous owner. The paint stayed protected for the 4 years I owned the car, and that helped me sell the car very easily. What I hope is that when I sell the M2, I can "market" the fact that the pain is as nice and new as the day I drove it off the dealer's lot. I literally picked the car up, and drove it right to the xpel installer's shop. I can only hope that by investing in the xpel now, I will regain a good portion of that in resale later. If I am just pipe dreaming, at least the car will be very easy to clean and I won't have to worry about rock chips or scratches. |

I'm already a huge fan of MG and it's my favorite color on the M2, but that just looks even more stunning. I think it looks fantastic!

If you've had a vehicle long enough and paid for the front end to be repainted more than once , then you've probably broken even on the wrap. You are definitely pipe dreaming... your unwrapped car will still be bested by an actual true garage queen.. but hey no worries. It's a car .. not an investment opportunity. . |

I just saw this in person! I was dropping my friend off because he got his 2015 328i windows tinted and trim wrapped gloss black at the same shop. The XPEL matte makes that grey look beautiful.

The wrap looks good but to some its not worth $5k. But then my partial front xpel already cost $800 so the entire car for $5k seems about right
Other than the money factor....car looks awesome |

OP, your car looks great! I had stopped by Wichita Clear Bra to see Brandon and Eric when your car was in, so I got see it first hand. They did an awesome job, as they do with all of their work.
I think your choice is perfect. I really like the frozen finishes, but would never consider owning one because of the difficulty in maintaining them and heaven forbid you would ever need body work. With the matte wrap, you get the frozen look, paint protection, and none of the worries associated with frozen finishes. As a bonus, if you ever decide that you don't want it any longer, it can removed and you have factory fresh gloss paint. Sounds like a win to me! Well done! |

And you're right, the car isn't an investment. But getting more money when I sell it because it was wrapped will make me happy. |

Sucks that starting 2017 in NYC you will not pass annual inspection if you have tints darker than 70% (clear/UV protection) all shops are given the same machine to measure tints as cops have. This mayor de Blasio just ruined everything. Only SUVS can have 35 in the rear but fronts have to be clear and all sedans have to be clear all around.

I don't see the point in spending all this money as second hand these cars will note hold their value as we all know they would have been thrashed. If not thrashed people still preserve these cars as having been thrashed.
