I don't think it's a good idea, unless 10k is not a big deal for you or you really like the car and you won't consider selling it for a long time. I think you are also in Washington State? It sucks for us because the 3 dealers we have here either needs 1 year wait or 5k mark up...

Not BMW of Seattle, as my thread in the Pricing/Ordering sub-category relates. 2 actual M2s, MSRP, available on November 10.

Those two are also fully loaded manual M2 priced around 65k. It will be the same situation for OP. I just don't understand why people opt for BMW LED door projections on an M2......... It's not an Airport limo. IMO, I think these fully loaded M2s are just dealer customized to make money on accessories. I really doubt that these are orders that people backed out from.

You could be right. That's not what the SA says, but he might not have been connected to the car as salesman or otherwise, and facts can begin to get fuzzy thereafter. He also first described the AW 6MT as having nothing more than Exec Pack and Car Play, but maybe that has "changed" somehow, too...

Don't like pre-loaded stuff from the dealer at full pop. Unless it is exactly what I want (and it never is, because it's always too much), I would have no interest. MSRP doesn't mean as much when it comes with a buttload of add-ons, in my view....I want to add-on my OWN buttload

Well now this is getting more interesting. I don't think this salesman gets to make that decision to add so many stuffs on. His manager must be good at making money

indeed it is that AW 6spd from bmw seattle! hahaha..... BUT.... i changed my mind again and have not fully committed. i realize the car is showing up very soon and i'm on the fence still exactly for the reasons you mentioned.

and yes that AW from seattle is fully loaded at 65k. about 11k in m performance accessories. i knew about that car before that thread got posted. i recently heard about the blue one they're getting but don't know the details other than it's also loaded up.

i'm more than likely not going to do it. i am actually trying to find a GT4 at a reasonable price but its difficult. i want to stay at or under 100 so the M2 is well within budget, the only problem is 65k for an M2 sounds like a stupid move, and you guys would agree.

Somebody from BMW Seattle other than my SA popped on to my thread and 'fessed up that the cars are NOT cancelled orders. Everything about them smelled like dealer profit-margin inspired loading. And it looks like that was accurate.

I actually like a good amount of the MPerformance upgrades, and am putting a few on my car. But not all of them, and certainly not at the cost imposed at full MSRP.

To be fair to Robert, he probably just assumed these were cancelled orders - because all of ours are sold, we hadn't kept any back. It would be the logical place 2 would pop up from.

We are not charging over sticker, given the market for the car if I were a buyer I'd rather this car at $65k than paying over for a car.

They don't charge you $5k over sticker, but make 50% on $10k worth of accessories! You also can't sell the add ons you paid retail for because you don't have the stock parts. You'll be really unhappy when the $65k will buy you the 2018 car with the s55 motor.

Or a C7 Grand Sport or GT350R or ZL1 ....... lots of good options around the 65k +/- price point.

Question HELP

I really want to get the LCI but continuing to see this possible n55 engine is clear that the price would go up and I cannot afford whatever that price will be. Do you think there will be an LCI AND a special edition (CS/GTS) or just one or the other? Should I get a lease before or wait until this gets settled?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

We can only guess just like you. Unfortunately at this time, leasing is a terrible option with the M2 (and all 2 series for the most part). So it probably makes sense to just buy the car (you can finance at like 2% from most credit unions, BMW does not have any financial support on the car, so they are in the 5s I think).

The common theory however is that the N55 will be replaced next year due to emissions issues and a new engine will go in with some light updates (LCI) to the front and rear bumpers/lights. The pricing should stay in line.

Do you have any recommendations for something else that leases better in the same price range? M3?

340i or 330i both of which will lease out very nicely. The 340i can even have an additional power kit added now bringing it in-line with the M2 power.

Options I believe are about 12%. For the port installed stuff, it is all over the place.

PS - see attached.
