RS is the car to get if you like AWD super hatches that can drift for no reason other than to allow skill-less drivers to wrap their car around a pole.

If you want to drive a real car, get the M2

Just as I predicted last year this Focus RS >>> M235I >>>> M2.

The M2 is junk.

Just a weird conclusion.
Yeah, it's weird when an overpriced POS like the M2 that will require an additional 20-40k of fixes after warranty is up. It's more like 30k vs 84k.

BMW has completely lost their way. America is shipping Mustangs to the UK like crazy. Can't build enough. The M2 <<<<< RS. The GT350 >>>>> M4.

Get used to it boyz. Camaro is only getting stronger too.

Under no circumstances is the M235i>>>>M2. I've driven both. Don't know about the Focus RS, because I haven't driven it. Unlike some, who apparently have fixed ideas about how certain cars actually drive formed sitting on their asses in their basements in front of their laptops.

I am waiting for mine, but one thing that is bugging me is BMW sticking with analog gauges when almost everyone else has gone digital (Corvette, Fiat/Alfa, Audi etc) at that price point. Sitting in an Audi almost made me want to switch despite having only four cylinders instead of six. I also wish the motor was S coded vs an N55 motor. Kind of cheapens it, probably psychological, but it's almost like BMW deciding to call the 235i, an M235i. Nothing is M except for all the stickers. Not saying the cars aren't performers, just me grumbling right now lol.

People who drink too much support Trump? This thread took an odd turn.

Although in his defense, the new 2016 Camaro SS seems to be outstanding, Motortrend Jason Cammisa and Jonny Lieberman seem to prefer it over the M4.

check it out:

Focus RS is underwhelming. It was my front runner for a new daily then I drove one and it was boring and slow. 105 mph 1/4 mile trap cars were fast in the mid 2000's.

But, it's a Camaro.. That's the pill I couldn't swallow. Same as a Ford Focus, it's still a Focus..

I have to say the RS is a really fun car. The Recaro seats are outstanding. After the break in period the car really wakes up. Very hard to get as many dealers are asking ridiculous prices for it. Worth it if you can get your hands on one. Also, if you want more power, lots of tuners including COBB are coming up with options, you can run low 12's with just a tune, no other mods. As a daily driver, year round car there is no better option in my opinion that gives you a manual transmission, awd and 350hp stock.

If you're a hot hatch type of person, then the Focus RS would probably be epic. I am sure it's a brilliant machine, but it's an over styled hatch with too many bits and pieces and has that 'look at me' thing going on about it.

And as others have said, I really don't think it's a direct competitor to the M2. Two completely different cars.

Still, I would have one for fun.

Gosh... Just found out I love junk.
Going to find treatment.

The RS has an over-tuned design and it is a Ford focus in the end of the day. I don't know if I would drive that car on a daily basis. As a second or third car, if it is really nice to drive... maybe.

I read that ecoboost is already pushed pretty hard from the factory with not many gains to be had from bolt ons and a tune. From what I understand they don't restrict the car during the break in period and when I drove it the car felt absolutely gutless up to 4K rpm which is not acceptable for a daily driver.

The seats were pretty good though, might be tight if you're a fat person. I'm 6' 155 and it was snug.

I can tell you the power is restricted from the factory. After 1200 miles the car wakes up by a lot. The engine has much more potential, there are members who put a cat exhaust and intercooler and with a tune they running in the 11's. I am running just a 93 oct pro tune, nothing else and 1/4 mile is consistent about 12.5-12.6s. Thats more than enough for street fun for me

From what I read on the RS forums there's no specific limitation on the ECU during the break in period.

What does your car trap on the 12.5 runs?

So it picks up 3-4 mph with boltons and tune, not bad. The one I drove definitely felt like a 105 or slower car, similar to my 16 STI.
