^ It's just a shift knob. It won't change how the shifter feels, just how the knob feels in hand ().

My upholsterer has a big experience with BMW parts. He can easy remove the shift knob from the boot.
1.step:drill the two plastic tabs
2.step:change the shift knobs
3.step:some glue back the white plastic ring+boot

You can see on the pics the rest OEM shift knob with performance boot assembled as well.

I measured the lenght of the OEM and Performance shift knob...
OEM lenght is ca.78 mm
Performance lenght is ca. 68 mm
So the top of the performance shift knob can move more shorter than the OEM...I like it!!!

It's just personal preference; I think the MP knob feels great, and the open pore CF matches the rest of the interior perfectly

Any dealer in the US should be able to order it. It will take several weeks to get here (from Germany).

There's a sticky thread on the forums, that lists all the MP parts with part numbers. Just confirm with your dealer that you want the MP boot/knob specific for the ///M2

You can buy it on IND with the boot in the matching stitching already glued together. That's what I did lol. Totally abandoned my original argument

Doesn't come with pre attached boot. Requires you to glue / zip tie. I sell my stock parts to regular 2 series guys. Make my money back anyway. Win win.

Yes it does. Look up the part number.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...545&series=F87

Also confirmed with ECS, but don't take my word for it.

Blue stitching to match the m2 interior? Or the performance white? Cause I got mine in blue

It's an M2 part number so blue. ECS chat confirmed but I'm guessing they just look it up on realoem. To be fair, IND was the only game in town for this stuff until recently and the only other place was the dealer so there's that. Mine will be here in a few days so I can officially confirm but I have no reason to doubt. That part number is specific to the M2.

I got this installed by my dealer. I like the look a lot, but still getting used to the hand feel of the skinny knob. My prior Bimmer had an AC Schnitzer SSK in it and that knob was fat and heavy. This feels dinky in comparison. But I can always swap it out if I feel the need. Would lose the CF, so I'll see whether I can adjust.

Nope. Doesn't really hit it, just sort of grazes it occasionally. Doesn't bug me at all.

Can't do pics right now. Car is getting a UUC SSK installed, among other things That will change all the angles anyway....

I know the feeling, believe me. It's easier to say that it was worth it when I have it. Got it wrapped today earlier, then off to wrench.

Wrench is Strictly BMW in Bellevue, just off Northrup. They are a Dinan dealer, and did my M3 for years. For this first round, they are putting in a UCP, an SSK, Eibachs and spacers, and a couple cosmetic things (cf exhaust tips and front grills).

After that, I'll take it to 1200, get the break-in visit to the dealer done, and then Strictly will put in Dinan's Stage 4 kit (which is really Stage 2, but who is counting...)

Then I should be good

Absolutely good with a Seattle meet-up when I have the car back!

Awesome can't wait to see it once it's done and that stage 4 is going to be nuts! Either way I don't think we can be friends...as you're going to destroy my wallet lol
