TBH, the side looks to stick out bit more.. not as flush. Then again I can't comment as I've not seen OEM ones fitted close up.

Gonna bit off-topic here, but my BMW dealer (f**k them) drilled holes to mount the reg' plate (which I've mentioned couple times NOT to):

Sorry for drilled holes dealers are deaf sometimes, for the CF cups i was sure that they would fit out bit more because it's a CF sheet over OEM plastic cover and your pic confirmed this but no problem if the final result please me ( i hope) i will keep them on ! The CF M perf are 100% CF and fit super perfectly but with bolts with whose i received from Getbmwparts.com
Thank you again for feedback

I put the M performance OEM CF caps on my car. My buddy opted for the aftermarket clip ons. No surprise they look good but not as good as the real deal, they don't fit as perfectly and I dont think they will last as long but for 150 a pair you can do 3 times ....

Apparently these aftermarket ones have uv coating.

Just have to wait and see...

I just installed my oem carbon caps. Can anyone confirm if the passenger side mirror has an auto dimming function? Mine seems to only dim on the driver's side. I tested it out by shining a light at the small circle on the rear view mirror.

Very good instructions on the other forum. No need to rip off the existing caps. I had to screw mine in as well.

Make sure you use a card to pull the mirror up. I used a pick with a 90 degree bend and broke my right mirror. Luck for me as it's the cheaper of the two to replace due to the non auto dim on the right side.

Why is this any better than the method I used?

With the BMW performance mirror caps the mirror has to come out for the new caps to be bolted in. The glass is cracked now. Your method works fine for removal of the cap

Wondering if anyone had replaced from OE MP CF mirror caps to stock caps?
I believe that CF Mirror caps needs the clip hook on the mirror to be broken to fit screws and washers that holds CF cap in place. So I doubt that stock one will not fit in anymore since clip hooks are not there on the mirror any more??

Can anyone confirm?

I didn't break off the clips. I just bent them back when I installed my OE CF mirror caps. I also used a flat trim tool like the post above and pried from the bottom center of the mirror up and both came out relatively easily. Pretty simple mod for the most part as long as you're careful.
