Finally put mine recently. 235/40/18. Rims were similar to op's. Its tight but it fits. Cleared the brakes with just a few mm to spare but it fits. Took it out for a spin. No noise or rubbing from the brakes.

The 270M wheels fit perfectly. Wheel spacing to the shock tower and the fender is good and clears the brakes without adding any spacers.
At speed, there isn't any pulling and hard breaking is straight. I don't think I'll need an alignment from the way the car feels. I do have less traction, but they are winter tires. |

Same wheels as the OP and my rears scrape against the back of the caliper. Very disappointing, I was supposed to drive 1200 miles round trip this weekend but without a proper winter setup I'm not sure how I'm going to pull that off without paying considerably for it.

Resurrecting this one from the dead... any idea whether M220 wheels from an E92 M3 would fit on our M2's? Found a great deal on some that have winter tires on them and would love to pick those up if they'd fit.
I believe the stats for M220 wheels are F: 19x8.5, ET29, R: 19x9.5 ET23... |

Actually... the M220's I have my eyes on are a square setup (19x9.5) with 255/35/19 tires in the fronts and 265/35/19 rears... I dont really understand the whole offset thing and hoping that someone who understands it better than me can opine on whether or not these would fit. Thanks!

Stock wheels on the M2 are: 19x9 ET29 19x10 ET40 A lower offset effectively moves the mount point closer to the center line of the wheel, making them protrude further out when mounting them on your car. Offsets are measured in millimeters, so ET29 is effectively 29mm off the centerline of the wheel, further towards the outside of the rim. If you were to go with say, an ET25 wheel, that would put the mount 4mm closer to the centerline, and push the wheel out an additional 4mm. Compounding this, the offset is in relation to the wheel width as well! Stock front wheels are 9". If you go with an 8.5" wheel in the front, it changes everything in relation to your required offsets. The main concerns with offsets are to ensure the tire does not rub on suspension, or on the fender when turning. I realize this doesn't answer your question, but there are a number of tire/wheel calculators out there that will give you an idea of how much different a particular setup is. In addition, if you own an M2C, you also have to be concerned with barrel clearances, even with 19" wheels. The brakes are massive, and some 19" wheels won't clear them. For the folks with the OG M2, we have the same issue with 18" wheels. Hope this helps! EDIT: if the M220s you are talking about are indeed square, they are probably 2 sets of rear wheels. Given the offset of ET23 (assuming, please check) the fronts are going to stick out about another 12mm or so, and the rears are about 10mm or so. These should be ok as far as offset goes, but check your barrel clearances. https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...9-5&offset2=23 |

So trying to interpret this would this mean that I would need a spacer in the front but that the rear would be fine? |

See my edit above. For reference, I run 18x10 ET35 wheels (square) with 265/35r18 tires for my track setup. I have to have at least a 12mm spacer in the front (effective offset ET23) to clear my suspension due to the wide wheels and tires. I run a 5mm spacer in the rear to even it out a bit. |

It all comes down to barrel clearance. You'll have to test fit for that or find someone who has them installed. |
