I like many others went with anthracite. My other choice would've been satin black, hoping someone posts a pic of the black ones installed on the M2, would love to see it!

I'll be monster trucking this winter. Rocking 255/35r19 square blizzaks on the stock wheels. I want to refinish the stock wheels anyways. Plus couldn't pass up a set of 4 brand new 19" blizzaks for $850.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing! Where did you find such an awesome deal on the Blizzak's?

The last molds of the non run flat LM-60's are still floating around. 245-275 35 r19. So the option to pick up 5-6 tires for the same price as 4 new ones is a smart deal. Tire rack had some but it takes some searching. Discount tire zone the has 100% right now in those sizes.

Those are just the list prices! Add to cart or click on the size. Should be around $200 a tire

Nice call! They do have 265/35R19 for the rear at $222 so I could grab 2 of those for the rear. They don't have any 255/35R19s so I'll need to scour other sites to see if I can find those for the fronts.

I went with the satin black, picking up the car Friday with them installed. They should go nicely with BSM, black kidneys and side gills, and black Dinan exhaust tips. I believe the only remaining chrome in on the M2 trunk emblem.

I'll do my best to upload some pics. It'll be secondary priority though because I'll be driving that bitch.

In snow however, it won't be much better than an all season tire. The Michelin x ice for example which is available through the group buy is a studless winter tire and does much much better in snow.
If you are sure that you will not drive your car in the snow then the alpin will be fine. If you plan on driving in the snow then think about the x ice or another true winter tire.
They're perfectly fine for places like me in KS where we get maybe 2-3 light snows per winter. I'd say they still perform quite a bit better than all-season tires. (I have AS/3's on my wife's 340xi, and had PA4's on my WRX and the WRX did a lot better in snow)

The biggest difference is in handling feel and performance. I had normal non-performance blizzaks (and down an inch from stock) and they made my car handle and feel like a minivan. It was floaty and boaty and I hated every second of it. I swapped them out for PA4's on stock sized rims and it was night and day. They feel as close to summer tires as you can get for having great cold weather performance. To me, since we don't get much snow, they're the best way to go.

How's everyone doing with the new winter set? Just put mine on (yes I know, a bit late). Threw them on, reset TPMS, everything went smooth as butter. Ride feels a bit smoother over the bumps too!
Spacers?? Would the 245's be ok at a 45 aspect? How much room you got in there?

Not sure if they would be, I've got them at 40. 245/40-18 square set-up. I don't currently have them on yet, will be putting them on end of October or mid-November so I can't tell you about the space

Why not just go with the Blizzak 255x40-18 tire.. Will be closer to the OE diameter and should work.

Curious if I can get a 12mm ish spacer out back and 5mm up front.

I'd suggest 225/45R18. Not quite as close as 255/40R18, but better in a couple ways. Narrower tread face = better grip and better "cutting" through deeper snow. The 45 aspect ratio also gives you more sidewall for comfort/protection over the potholes. You'd ideally want to run that on an 18x8. Many tire options available in this size too, and they tend to be a little cheaper than a 255/40.
