Rev spike on 6MT

Wondering if anyone else has experienced a rev spike when going from 4th to 5th gear? I noticed that if I shift at or above 3k rpm, as soon as the shifter begins moving into 5th the rev match blips up by about 500 rpm and there is an unsettling sound when I begin to release the clutch.
I have 700 miles logged, and it just began to manifest today.

I've been pretty careful to adhere to the break in process, and not going above 4000 rpm just to play it safe...

It sounds to be like it is rev marching to 3rd - it would happen if you're shifting close to the gate for that gear.

From 4th to 5th I've accidentally 'touched' on 3rd gate numerous times and had revs spike. Like gmzanatta says, if you stray just a bit from your intended path you may trigger an unintended rev match. Only happens when I'm trying to be quick with my shifts.
Rather annoying but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

At first I thought that might be the case, but the rev spike starts when the shifter is in gate 5.

Have you noticed a difference between comfort, sport and sport plus for this issue? I don't have an answer but I wonder if there is a difference.

Congrats on joining the AZ M2 club.

Congrats on joining the AZ M2 club.
It doesn't seem to matter what mode I am in. If the rpms are in the 2000 to 2500 range, no blip. It only shows up when I get the tach up to 3000. The harder I am trying to accelerate, the more pronounced the rev spike.

And thank you for the warm welcome!
