darn that rear bumper looks sooo much better than the m235, its just a blank canvas vs the m2's has the additional shaping.

the m235's side panels are left so boring and flat, couldnt they have given it 1/4th of the m2's 'muscle tone'?

not fair.

even starting with the e90 gen, bmw has made too far a contrast imho been the lack of body definition of a regular 3series vs a m3.

the e46 gen wasnt bad between it and its m variant.

It has that M4 look where it doesn't necessarily look wide from the straight on rear view, but it does from the front 3/4 view. The interior looks kind of depressing, but I suppose you don't buy the cheapest baby M for the luxury interior. I don't care about the mirrors, but I wonder how the same people who defended BMW reusing the M3/4 wheels because it's cheaper will defend BMW not doing it for the mirrors. The seats look underwhelming too (sorry)

The proportions look very good though.

Cheap looking seats. Very surprised they didn't use the performance seats at least. 4.2 0-60 is nice though, don't doubt it will be a fun car. Especially at 51k. But I'll take an F80.

Looking pretty good. Definitely more excited than I was.

1. Is the EPS system from the M4
2. Why oh why can they not have a separate button or control for rev match. It says it's disabled when DSC is off. I hope it stays on in MDM mode too. This shows BMW clearly does not listen to any feedback on these forums as that's a major gripe with the M4 owners
3. Why is the manual heavier than the DCT?
4. I've expressed my dislike for lack of seats. Some alcantara in the centre parts would have sufficed and looked good while functional(grip)
5. M mirrors totally would have finished it off. Bad call BMW (sorry had to throw it in there)

I'm still interested though...

The numbers look good.

I'm not particularly thrilled over the styling (esp. with those awful seats), but I'll get over it.

My deposit is in and I can't wait to take ED for mine.

Cutting costs is the main reason I suppose.

Excellent! Significantly faster than an E92 M3 (~8:05), but still behind the F80/82, correct?

This is going to be one of those cars that i have to see in person, I love the paint but it looks sort of high at the back. No M mirrors no biggie, but the seats I don't like, maybe BMW should not have spoiled us so bad with the new M3/4 seats as that is the standard I'm holding the M2 to.

Also, is that the same turbo as the regular N55 or different?

Some things are obviously made cheap to not compete with an M3... the seats are regular seats, no true adaptive suspension, no CF bits and so forth.
OUCH. 3505 lbs for manual ..

Warning: Party pooper here. It is nice and looks mean from the front but the rear bumper is off. The diffuser is perfect but the reflector/slats thing isn't right. I will reserve final judgement until I see it in person as these photos always skew things. I also wish there were more interior/exterior color options. 4 colors and 1 interior makes it seem like this is meant to be a limited run like the 1M but that isn't what I have read.
