Fancied up the grill a bit and installed BMS clutch stop.
Finally got to drive it a bit today after a week of snow and rain. Drove in sport plus for the first time. First impressions: love it! Really love the sounds it makes. Car is just faster, quicker, more nimble than anything I've ever driven. Drove an M5 on the Autobahn this summer for a few hours and that car was a beast but not nearly as much fun as the manual M2. Also drove a Z1 about 20 years ago and that was fun but my memory escapes me a bit. I also don't have any issues with the seats or the drivers seat alignment. Feels straight on to me and I find the seats super comfy. They are not as nice looking at the m3/4 seats but I find the leather very nice. (They look cheap in pics). As of now the only things I would change would be a choice in color on the interior and the wheels. I would prefer the silver version of the stock wheels and I think Oyster leather would be wicked with the LBB.

I bought the setup from Tire Rack. I have been a customer there since 1994 or so. I trust their Fitment on any car. BBS 18x18.5 Satin Platinum BBS XA 245/40R18 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D Tire Pressure Sensors Road Hazard protection Mike

Here are a couple photos.....overcast morning and iPhone photos.....White anything is tricky to photograph.
1. Handling is fine, minimal extra wall movement compared to 19's summers, but you can feel the difference. I'll be doing some 'ramp' runs to see if I can feel the real difference with handling. I first was able to experience "loss of steering input" in my 97' M3 when using Blizzak's. (I had Blizzak mark 1 and then mark 2(more special tread than the mark 1) for the M3. That was a great innovation. The loss of steering wheel input is not a good feeling. LOL. I have not pushed the M2 to the point (yet). Never found in in my RS6 since it plows with understeer a bit first 2. As expected they are more noisy at speed (80 to 90) but not "Pirelli" noisy - For some reason the Pirelli's on my 2000 A6 4.2 sport were very noisy after 20 k miles or so. ?normal? 3. They are great snow and ice tires, I have been using that brand/type for 13 years or so, in the worst weather on unplowed roads etc.. Several other snows are not speed rated like the Dunlops. Yes, there are good days in the winter..... They stay about the same with regard to sound until the bitter end of the tread life. (I drove a set to 'sheet of paper' bold one winter, failed my auto inspection and d'ooh found out why I was slipping a bit in the slush - too busy that winter to keep track properly - I guess Mike

Is it really that bad? I'm picking mine up tomorrow and it will likely be under 45 and possibly raining? A little worrisome to me.

Just got back from my 1200 service and didn't get to attempt launch control because I had to get to work and was on a highway the whole time. I took a look through some threads and noticed a line saying something about twin turbo. This was my receipt and it doesn't list anything about that? I want to make sure I had everything done in the sense of turbo boost or whatnot since many claim the car becomes "more alive" after this service. I have a feeling the techs haven't see many M2's before touching mine so I want to confirm. Thank you

Just talked to my tech. The running in inspection that gets selected when they hook up the car is what unlocks LC. You have that on the work order so you ate good to go.

I tried to use LC tonight but couldn't get it to work. I held dsc until it was off, switched to manual 1st gear, foot on brake all the way down and hit the gas. All it did was act as if I was braking and accelerating and making a jerk sound. Is it possible I have to hit the accelerator harder/faster?

By the time time you get LC to work at a stoplight everyone around will be gone. Try to get it to work on an M5/M6, it's impossible

Fun day... Noticed something hit the shit out of my windshield and left a scratch. The scratch rubbed out but noticed in the day light that whatever it was cut through my xpel and possibly the paint...
