Won't change the fact shift is still in sport which is the main concern in traffic.

That actually surprised me when I test drove an M3. Noticeably more lag than the M2's N55. But damn that thing loved to rev; seemed to breathe much easier in general.
There is now way the N55 has better response then the S55 its way more laggy then the s55.
The design of the s55 low inertia variable vane and those impellers never stop spinning. It's optimized by impulse charging and flow enhanced manifolds. This is all directly from BMW archives.

I've had 2 N55 cars for the last 5 years, I recently drove and M4 and the difference in response in favor of the s55 was night and day.

You sure you had that M3 in sport/sport+?
Drive a m2 n55 and speak again. No tech stuff bs pls.

Not if you have a MT.

I'd rather drive a DCT in sport+ in bumper to bumper traffic than a manual, but thank you anyway for pointing that out. And already took care of it with D/S, everything is so smooth.

Yes, sport+ throttle and suspension, sport steering, max attack shift and DSC off.

It's so hard to separate turbo lag from various throttle / software delays these days.

Does the N55 firmware for the M2 have an aggressive fuel cut like the S54 cars? The one thing I noticed is that a lot of cars don't cut right away when you lift off the throttle and you still get a bit of "coast" before engine braking really hits. I heard it's for emissions purposes, but I don't know.

Probably drive by throttle making the Corvette more controllable or they are slowing down to save the drivetrain.

Old cable throttle non of this crap happens. Just all engine and right foot modulation.

The software engineers could be lazy in some cases and there is too much latency in the system. Not much effort to minimize the delay between pedal actions and the actual motor connected to the throttle body being actuated.
