M Mobility Kit - Canada

Can any Canadian M2 owners tell me if their car came with the M Mobility tire sealant/repair kit?
Thanks!

Yep. It's under the floor in the back. You're best option if you get a flat is to just sit and wait for a tow truck

Are you saying that because the Mobility Kit is a pain in the ass to use?

I will echo his advice - just wait.

You'll end up doing more damage trying to repair and drive than just waiting for a truck.

These kits are a last resort, not a first. They don't work in sidewall failures or punctures and regardless they make a real mess with the goo everywhere. My advice is to just call roadside assistance and have the car towed. Flats out on the road are really rare these days so in all likelihood you can make it for many years without having to worry about it. I switched my E90 from runflats to regular tires and joined AAA just in case. I have used them twice in 160,000 miles but both times were my fault. I didn't pay close enough attention to the inner edge of the rear tires and they wore through on two occasions about 100,000 miles apart. I have learned to pay closer attention.

Thanks for all the feedback. I would only use the kit as a last resort... the reason I asked this question was because I carry a Continental ContiComfortKit currently and the sealant expires soon, so if the M2 comes with the Mobility Kit I'm not gonna bother buying a replacement sealant canister. I know these kits make a big mess and can damage the TPMS, so I also have roadside assistance to use as a first resort

The last two times I got a flat tire was in the 1990's, and both of those times were due to my idiocy as a young man

Last flat I got was in my X1 at about 200 when I picked up a rock. I called road side and sat at a local bar until they arrived.

The goo makes a massive mess and the technician will hate you, that stuff is such a pain in the ass to remove.

The kit is really there more for peace of mind than it is to actually help you out. I'll take mine out and save the 2lbs lol

Do you mean DCT? I thought only AWD cars need a flatbed because of the front and rear diffs. Why would a RWD car need a flatbed, would you not just tow the rear end?

I got bought the mobility kit for my M235i when I took off the run-flats, and put on MPSS with new rims. What I like about it is, you can air up your tire, if it's running a little low. I agree about using the sealant as a last resort, but it's nice to have the kit for putting air in a tire.

The kit I bought has a air compressor that operates with the 12V power outlet in the trunk. Is this the same kit that comes with the M2? I think it's nice to have.

Yes, mistyped DCT. Flatbed is depicted in a graphic in the owners manual.

Aaah so if I don't have this kit in my car (can't find it somehow), the best option is to purchase one of those plug-in tire inflators for if/when I get a flat.

The M2 has a plastic rectangular pc under where you're supposed to put the jack, but without a jack from BMW, the regular jack one can buy or from other cars won't go into this plastic pc. What are you guys doing? I'm assuming the jack is supposed to be INSIDE that plastic pc.

Ok when you get a flat I wouldn't ever use those sealant kits because it'll just cause a huge mess and potentially mess up the tire. I would just call a flat bed tow truck or a road side tire repair truck to plug the tire. Just getting a pump won't help if there is a hole in it.

There is no jack that comes with the m2. For a jack I just buy a jack pad adapter and use a normal hydraulic jack. If you want an emergency jack buy the bmw or mercedes compatible scissor jack that has the rectangular bump built in.

Only ghetto tow companies don't use flatbeds nowadays, should never be an issue getting a flatbed via AAA. If you ever need it.
