I'm not happy about no carbon fiber roof, regular mirrors , 1 interior color as I always opt for red and most importantly , it has the same N55 motor not a detuned S motor.
It's basically not any faster than my jb4'd car.. It just looks better but again, only in LBB.
I think I'd rather just go for the m4 unless I test drive it and it has the m4 feel.
Feel? It's a cheaper, smaller, less luxurious, and more nimble M4.
What about the sound. The revs , how hard will it pull ..

And this is why I love my 1M...
They'll never be a cheaper, smaller, less luxurious, or more nimble little M!

The M2 / M235 comparo is awesome. Can't wait to see in person.

Yeah have learned that too. I also saw x5M in lbb and it was awful but some colors work with different lines. I saw the YAZ blue online and pics and loved it but awful in person. The VO looks good on 1M but awful on X1 and 235i IMHO. So you really have to see the finished product. The rear is not very good on either but also the front in the 1M with the big headlights was my least favorite view. I think this is a really important point because I could've almost ordered a YMB M3 based on pics and all these other people that loved it but when I finally saw it in the sun it was downright ugly to me so let's hope we can see these in the flesh sooner than later!

Wow would you look at those mirrors. Definitely the first thing I notice.

Okay I'll see myself out now.

Also anyone remember when a mini cooper caused hysteria over how the M2 might actually have M mirrors due to that blurry spy shot...

---

If you look at the placement of the rear wheel, you can see in both cases it moves quite a bit from normal to M car. The M2 just has those bulging fenders that mask the difference better than the obvious flares on the 1M. (I definitely prefer the flares on the 1M and I'm clearly biased)

Agree. Cars are designed to be experienced in the real world at full size.
Little 2d photos on computer screens (or even big photos on TV screens) only give a rough idea.

Looks like the M2 has the ConnectedDrive Driver Assist camera near the top of the windshield.
With Lane Departure Warning, Selective Beam headlight aiming, speed limit sign detection etc.
Maybe Driver Assist will be offered in the US on the M2.
Maybe not.

So both are quasi and one is limited in its number. Trick formula? Only time will tell. I bet they whore them out.

This is one of the reasons why im worried about the new M2 and the reason im looking elsewhere at the e92 m3. These photos dont give the same differentiating factor as the 1m vs 135.

I'd take a slightly used m4 for the same money as a brand new M2. My opinion the m2 just looks like an aftermarket project.

There is much more of a difference in the M2 design, from the standard 2 series, than the 1M.They changed much more of the design, just look at this pic of the M2 rear fender flare. Its way more extreme looking than the 1M.The side profile compares nicely to the original E30 M3.There is nothing tame and ordinary about the M2 designThe front bumper, rear bumper and side profile are all very unique and make the car look totally different than the M235i.

Damn, I was looking into rewarding myself with an M235i, but in comparison, the M235i looks like a fiat! I guess in the front I can live with the M235i design compared to the M2, but the rear looks so bad when next to the M2, you can see those pathetic rear tires and the funky grey bumper. Hopefully the M perf. bumpers for the M235i might solve my fear.

Funny I experience this now as I always saw the 2 series as a great looking car in any form.

I now have the need to buy an M2, but I wouldn't be able to get my hands on one

Rear didn't get any prettier, but BMWNA is going to have to make this parking lot a tourist attraction, haha!
