A 4.5'-in-3'-out downpipe it looks to me.

AA has always been a creative player. They already have 4-3.5 downpipe for EWG N55 that only fits AA cat back. But a 4.5-3 opens the market for standard 3' catback.

I like it. I'm in if they put in high quality HJS cats as option.

I believe bigger downpipe (either 4-3.5 or 4.5-3, over standard 4-3) reduce backpressue, helps spool and makes power. Best sample look at r35 GTR transit from CBA to DBA in MY2012. The key change is the enlarging of turbo outlet and downpipe inlet.

Result varies from platform to platform though. Hope AA come out with something that's dyno proven, solidly.

BTW, that's only if I was not guessing wrong.

You missed the point buddy, its a catted downpipe that does not throw a CEL.
At this time the only other option that guarantees no CEL is Fabspeed.

On a mid-term bases (2-3yrs use) only the "no CEL" catted downpipe is not enough to not throw CEL. Or at least my experience showed this.
I am using HJS 300 cell catted donwpipe made by HJS in the past 2 and half year in my m235i n55 and then in my M2. They claims that this downpipe is EURO 6 compliant. In the past two months i have CEL in m235i n55.
I have reassembled it on to my M2 (as m235i sold) and still CEL on my M2 as well.
It is winter here at Hungary, but once the temp gets colder (under 10 celcius) it throws CEL ocassionally).
Maybe the catted downpipe is getting out of operation or meanwhile both of the two mentioned car's software is calibrated strictier.

What i suggest is to use mini cat like Fabspeed offer or spacer or o2 sims to be 100 percent with no CEL.

Thank you for the feedback.
Fabspeed uses the HJS cats as well, maybe a different type than the one you are using on your cars.

So far our experience with Fabspeed downpipe has been great when it comes to CEL code

I did get the point. I have the Fabspeed. My point was this is just another version of what is already available as companies copy each other.

Copy?
How is that copying, you have not even seen the downpipe and you do not even know what kind of cats they are using.
For all you know the downpipe might not have anything in common with Fabspeed except not throwing a CEL code

I remember we exchanged PMs in late 2016 when I took delivery of m2 and started to put on mods.

Sorry for hearing such a high quality cat fails. Can you share what mods/psi are you running? And did you track a lot or heavily abuse your 235?

I believe if HJS Euro 6 core fails, nothing else including factory cores can survive.

You will need to buy another stock downpipe when you decide to sell your car in the future which will cost 4 times more than any catted aftermarket DP.

Interesting...I have the Fabspeed SportCat DP and while admittedly I only have 35km on the odo (as i only picked up the car a few days ago)...should I be concerned about/avoid driving it on cold days...living in Canada, so you know I'm going to see some of those...current temp...-13 degrees.

A pipe is a pipe is a pipe. Cat is a cat is a cat in a pipe in a pipe in a pipe. They all do the same thing no mater what it looks like. The only thing that counts is the cat type and what standard it complies with. I can make one in my garage in an hour with the stock pipe as a templet. You can design this with a 3D printer and cad in even less time.

Just clear the code. Its just running richer in the cold and no high flow cat can fully mask that.

So it's standard 4-3 dp?

I see from picture an adapter from turbo side and hope that's for bigger (4.5') downpipe inlet.

I don't think it's an adapter, it's just the machined flange of the downpipe in the V-clamp.

Its a standard downpipe that fits stock components (3.5" or 4.0" depending on production date) similar to all the other downpipe options available.

What sets it apart from 99% of the other DP is high quality cats that "guarantee" no CEL code with no tune required. The goal of this project is to offer both the guarantee and a very competitive price.

I love the "guarantee" on a not so legal mod. That's a good one. I would love to see someone try to get that one enforced. Why don't you let Active do their own marketing?
