Coding TPMS
Does any one know if it is possible to code out the TPMS--sure would make things simple for track us! Any one available in Ohio--especially NE Ohio or maybe Western PA who can do this?

Yes, it is possible! I believe Flat Tire Monitor that stays on, but the TPMS stays turned off.

However, I highly recommend getting an enet cable and ISTA+ as well as esys setup if you have a PC or a mac with bootcamp/windows VM if you're relatively tech savvy. It's super easy to setup and has ALOT of great information especially if you want to wrench on your own car.

Relatively cheap and lots of great feedback on the forum. Sounds super user-friendly for those of us worried about turning our car into a large brick...

So, did this today with Okee at codemycar.com. Coding TPMS off removed it completely and seems to allow running DSC off without going into comfort mode.
It also removes the temp and pressure readings, tho. |

Just had my TPMS removed , by code, and went back to Road Atlanta...car "feels"quicker in DSC off mode...I was on new tires and a very cold day, but it felt like the lap times were a bit faster.

I realize this may seem a dumb question, but why do you want to code out TPMS? I’ve run on the track with TPMS engaged and find it useful to monitor pressure and temps. (Is this because you don’t have TPMS in your wheels ... I do have TPMS sensors in my track wheels).

so with TPMS coded out, you can still choose between driving modes?

You shouldn't need to code out TPMS, just don't put any sensors in your track wheels. Guys with snow tires have done this and all modes still work, or so they say...

To clarify: you can select any drive mode without sensors, but after the car doesn’t find them, it will switch to Comfort throttle and steering response even with DSC off. Last edited by ZM2; 12-07-2017 at 09:30 AM.. |
