New personal best time at Palmer, sub 1.50.
Best lap time of the day, occurred day one of a two day event: 1:49.58. Love this track. 2017 BMW M2 Michelin SC2 Bilstein B16 PSS10 (run at 1 clicks front/3 clicks rear, still figuring them out) Ground Control Camber Plates at 2.7 degrees PFC08 |

I see that you also have or had 135i? If yes, how does it compare to m2? I am thinking to replace my 135i with m2 and looking for a feedback from someone who drives both on the track. My 135i is modded, but is street friendly, my daily driver. Is M2 a much better street /track car?

Yeah, there is no much margin for error if you really get it wrong. So I try to pick and choose where I push a bit more and always leave some room left on the table in the braking zones. Not as fast overall as WGI or Limerock but super fun track. The 135i I had was great fun and was good on both street and track. The M2 is obviously more track oriented, which to me means, it's stiffer in terms of suspension but especially the chassis, more responsive in throttle and steering, more neutral in handling, brakes are much more competent, you can fit bigger tires, etc. If you drive aggressively on the track, it's a much more competent track platform. The neutral handling makes it very easy to drive on track. Whether all of that is worth the added cost to get one over a 135i for someone at novice level that is not looking to set lap records, it's really up to each individual. In good hands, the M2 is at least a few seconds faster per lap minute and easier to drive fast but both cars were a lot of fun. For me, the M2 was a better fit. |

dvas, added cost will be significant to replace my 135i with m2. That's why I am looking for the feedback. Is it worth $50k for me to replace the car that is modded and is pretty fast and fun to drive on the street/track?
Honestly I am not sure about it yet. Thanks for your response

Last track day of the year, with SCDA at LimeRock. Nice not to have a student once in a while. Very cold day with a high of only 32 degrees. Took 5-6 laps to get any heat in the tires but the grip came in ok after that. I left a bit on the table just in case, especially on the uphill. Ran two sessions before my front outer edges corded again and I had to call it a day. I need to find a solution to my tire killing issues. 1:02.39 is the best time captured by M lap timer.

Stock M2, 6MT
Michelin Pilot Super Sports Sandown (Melbourne, Australia) August (winter here) - Temp ~16°C, dry track. 1:30.8 (one of only 4 laps without traffic, they were all 1.31s) Phillip Island (outside Melbourne, Australia) September (Spring here) - Temp ~16°C, very wet and windy track. 2:30s - 2:40s (no point pushing track was soaked). Last session rain stopped and track dried on racing line, I got: 2:03.6 Phillip Island (outside Melbourne, Australia) November - temp 22°C, dry track. 2:01.0 Still learning the car and track, I think I have a few seconds improvement at least Current GT3 RS about 12 seconds faster with a driver who used to instruct. |

How did you find the stock discs and pads? According to most on here you automatically catch fire and explode when you even think of going on a track with the stock brakes! ?

^ funny I have logged on here in a bit. But just saw this. The tires peeled after 2 days but that’s due to not being aligned for track. They’re street tires. They work but not great. I had super sports. The brakes are ok for a couple laps but overheat. Then need a cool down lap then can do a couple laps. Never caught fire 😂 but wouldn’t choose to run them. Disks are fine Just needs pads

2:06 with MPS and RS29s/SRF and MPSS - first track day with the car.
How in the world do you use the M Lap Timer app for more than 15 minutes? It kept crashing on longer sessions and I lost all the data...rather annoying |

Best of the weekend at Summit Point Main was 1:21.45 - MCS 2-way remotes - GC camber plates -3 deg - Hoosier R7s - AP calipers front, stock rear - PFC 11s - Fabspeed downpipe w/MPE Can't help but think how quick these cars could be with some weight removed and aero |

isjoey and I were running 1:25s on 4S’s and RE-71Rs on Main last year. This year will include bigger and stickier rubber, AP fronts for me, maybe some aero from isjoey, and who knows, maybe a big turbo before the end of the year... It’ll be a while before I can get back out there, but isjoey will be at PCA and NCC events. Looking forward to running with you all sometime. |
