The 3er also has some very undernourished sections and odd angles. Anways, the F87 is chunkier, which I prefer. |

Ok so today I drove behind a pony blue G87 for quite some time and I have to say it...the rear looks quite bad, they did not have to go so angular IMHO.
That is all...

I’d be ok with angular if it was consistent, but like the G80, there’s no fluidity in the design. Some areas of the car are angular, some soft, some aggressive, some bulbous. The design is not cohesive. The shape of the headlights is what bothers me the most…if they were less oval shaped and more aggressive it would improve the front end tremendously.

The best suit for it is the F87 costume 😁

Saw a few G87 out in the wild recently. It definitely does look better in person but I stand by my previous notions that directly front and rear, it just does not look good*. Side profile is its best angle, in fact, anything showing its elongated coupe form is its best angle. Better overall proportions compared to the loved F87 due to its larger size.
I'm sure it drives great as well. Unfortunate/fortunate that its predecessor set such a high bar. *In relation to the F87. |

I stand by my previous assessment though. Would I get one today if I had to immediately replace the Integra? Yes, only if my Acura dealer didn't have a a replacement Type S available. |

So much this.
So many of the reviews from folks that have physical access to the car that I've seen so far have all had this flavor: "wow, really nice, glad BMW have made this car (#savethemanuals) buuuuut … F87". It really does seem like the G87 is a victim of its predecessor's success. We'd be falling down in the streets worshipping BMW right now if they'd just introduced this turbo'd inline-6 with a 6MT without it coming on the heels of the F87. Instead, the reaction seems to be "meh, I guess it's a pretty nice car." I’m a very satisfied F87 M2 LCI owner. I’m also over the moon that the G87 exists. We could so easily be in a world where BMW altogether decided to stop making a powerful little sports coupe with manual transmission option. So, much as I Iove my F87, I think I see a lot to like with the G87 and am excited about it. |

I guess we differ in our definition of "little"...

This is it, relatively speaking you're correct.
I just don't want to live in a world where approx. 3814lbs is considered "little". WTF is happening out there?

Hell the M2C got excoriated by journalists when it first came out because of increased weight. Now it’s the nimble ballerina compared to the G87. Life is weird.

But the G87 is a much more sorted car I can drive it in ways I can’t imagine in my F87
