2016 AW DSG EP carbon parts 9k miles PPF

Hello folks, I have an opportunity to buy this car which is out of state. I am in Arizona so, I can avoid sales tax buying through private party(5k savings). What do you guys think is a good price is. There are not a lot of options buying a new one locally through private party. I have priced a new 2018 6 speed and executive package for 61k including tax.

As a frame of reference, I got my 2018 LBB with exec, manual trans, sunroof, apple carp lay for $53k. I was an out of state buyer and it was at a dealership.

My opinion - it's not a terrible price, but it wouldn't be good enough for me to buy it. The 2016 base price was $51,700 plus dest and options which would add just over $5k, making it a $57k car when new. I feel like it's certainly depreciated more than $7k since new. The PPF and carbon bits have no resale value, tho they may be worth something to you.

I think thats a great deal! it was close to a 62K MSRP car as everything was installed at the dealership.

Regardless, when comparing the 2016 vs 2018 and the only difference is the gauges and the tail lights but other than that almost identical cars?! id definitely go used if it has all those extra bits and low miles.
It says 9k miles in the thread title. I agree your buddy got a nice deal but I don't think the offer the OP is/was looking at is a good deal - a car that stickered for about $57k when new and they want $50k for it used with 9k on it. The car in that case is worth less than $50k, even with those extra bits that may be desirable to some but add no market value.

The 2018 also got LED headlights and an all-new dashboard, as well as the availability of a moonroof in the US model for the first time, in addition to the new gauges and slightly different tail lights you mention.

I never ended up buying that car. Did your friend buy it at a dealer or private party? I am having a hard time finding reasonable prices used ones. My main reason in buying preowned is I save 8.75% in sales taxes if I buy from private prty. Not sure if I am supposed to lowball these asking prices.

private party, thats awesome you guys dont have to pay sales tax on private party sales. we do here in Cali which is stupid because the taxes have already been paid by the original owner -_-
