MY18 LCI with Moonroof..?

Hi All,

I was wondering whether anyone had taken delivery of an MY18 with the moonroof (not sunroof) option installed..? I'm curious to see how this looks as I thought that it would likely give the car a sweet look particular in LBB & AW (where the black glass provides a nice contrast).

Alas, BMW Australia does not permit this option (sunroof only) ... and as I wasn't much interested in the sunroof I passed on that. I think I saw that the US market allows this option...?

Thanks!

I just assumed when other countries are stating moonroof it's just the equivalent of our standard sunroof, no?

Moonroof and AW, as requested.

Just by sheer luck, my M2 was one of three on the first load of '18s delivered to the U.S. last month - and the first in the country with the moonroof. I have the moonroof open all the time except at high speeds – when the noise makes me crazy – or during extremely hot or wet weather. Wind buffeting is minimal.

I'm not aware of a metal sunroof being available anywhere in the world. Is it?

+1 Always wondered what's the difference (if they're actually 2 different things offered on M2).

As Spa2k's post, appears Aussie sunroof = US moonroof, atleast on the M2 anyways.

I assume you were thinking of the double glass roof as per those fitted to the X range etc.

Poor phrasing on my part I suspect ... I meant a glass roof for (nearly) the entire roofline, like Prodigy has correctly guessed.

Yup, it certainly appears so.

I'd say so - interestingly when I was negotiating over features, I asked the dealer about a moonroof option, and his reaction was surprise - that it was offered on the M2 ... so clearly the "moonroof" word had put him in mind of something other than an (Aussie) sunroof.

Thanks again Spa2k - appreciate the pix, and the sun/moonroof looks good on AW!
