I thought the M2 was quicker than my 135is, like upper 12s. Maybe the elevation and conditions affected it.

Or the fact that it was a 6MT (the rest of the cars were DCT) and the driver had 0-60 and 1/4 mile times well above consensus.

Am I crazy or are things more civil on the M2 board than the f80-82 board?

I don't know maybe someone explained it before on the f87 boards before and you already read those posts explaining it? Who knows right? I mean can you think of a time when there may have been a discussion on why someone bought a DCT? Maybe that discussion has never happened before? Should we start a new thread about it since we don't seem to know why? I bet everyone is looking forward to the DCT M2 thread!

Besides the off-topic religion/politics subforum, the F80/82/83 vs board is the juiciest. It's a love/hate model....for the most part, owners love the car. Those who don't, shit all over it. I enjoy browsing and occasionally commenting over there.

F8x board definitely is more interesting than here. We are boring compared to them, for all car and non-car related stuff.

The M2 will be my daily. I spend my mornings and afternoons on the 405 in LA/Orange County. Probably the worst highway for traffic in the country. We are talking 60-90 minutes for every 10 miles traveled during rush hour. Did I mention that it's 6-8 lanes wide on each side?

That's why I got DCT.

Manual would have been nice because my wife would have never asked to drive it.

Thumbs up M2 v M4 v M5 v M6: drag race and rolling race

Power band difference between the n55 and the s55 pretty clear in this video. No, this doesn't say everything about these cars, but it does highlight how the m2 runs out of gas at higher speeds.
